BREAKING NEWS!
CEDAR FAIR
FOR SALE?
That's pretty much the biggest news in the amusement industry at the moment. Cedar Fair, Geauga Lake's parent company, seems interested in selling the chain of parks. Here's a link to the story from the New York Post.
What could this mean for Geauga Lake? Unfortunately, this news could be the worst kind of news for the park in Aurora. It is no secret that Cedar Fair has had some struggle with the park since taking it over in 2004. So if a new owner is found, will the park be saved, sold off to another operator who may be willing to take a chance with it, or would they be more interested in leveling it and creating more housing or shopping around the lake?
We'll be on pins and needles around here until the final decision is made. It would be quite sad to see almost 120-years of history be destroyed right in front of our eyes.
