One ride I remember was in the old arcade that is where Shipwreck Falls stands now. In addition to the dodgems being housed in that building was a pretzel dark ride. cotton candy Beaver Land Mine Ride User is Offline Joined: 12 Jul 2007 Posts: 59	Posted: Fri Jul 13, 2007 11:25 am    Post subject: · Quote I don't know what the name of it was, but inside the old funhouse there was a disc that you sat on, and it would spin and fling people off of it.  I remember that being one of my absolute favorite things to do as a little kid.  Also inside the fun house, they had a tunnel that rotated as you walked through it.  I've always wanted to be able to run on a full sized hamster wheel (I'm kinda an odd one...) and maybe that thing is where I got that idea from.  Whatever; the funhouse was sweeeeeeeet because of those two things. on a related note, I saw some show not that long ago on amusement parks and rides, and the disc thing I first mentioned was on this show.  apparently a lot of people broke their legs when they got flung off of it?  so I guess that's one thing from the past that will never be seen again.  LOL!

I do remember the Fun House. Along with the spinning disc and the tunnel there was a wooden slide. What I remember of that slide was getting burns every time I went on it. There was also a little maze or path in the front that moved while you walked though it and a ride op would blast air at you while you were walking though. Something similar would most likely not work in this day and age of lawsuits and the fact CF could not go seat belt crazy. The Fun House was redone in the early 70's into the Palace Theater I have attached a picture of the old Fun House circa mid 50's to early 60's. Its not late 60's as the Wild Mouse would have been to the right, not the Tilt A Whirl. This picture is from the book "Cleveland Amusement Park Memories" by David and Diane Francis - a great book that everyone should have in their collection.

I miss both of them. (I know the Hay Baler is a retooled Matterhorn) but I miss the placement of it where it was before.  If we could only go back to the Geauga Lake of the mid to late 80s and take some of these current rides with us what a park it would be!

They would need to be heavily modified due to handicap accessibility laws these days.

The Musik Express/Matterhorn (Yukon Yahoo)/Yo-Yo corner was one of my favorite parts of the old midway as well as the Arcade/Casino/Black Widow/Mirage area just prior to Premier/Six Flags leveling the area in 1999.  I also liked the Double Loop/Scrambler/Flying Scooters corner back in Western Village. _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. Never forget it.

I actually liked it better then. IDK why though. Rotor was so sweet too. I also definitely remember there being a tilt a whirl. Some waterslides that I remember were undertow, stingray slides, and Neptune Falls. Turtle Beach was the place to go too. Wow do I miss a lot of that stuff. There is so much room especially now to put the rotor back in it's original place though.
