Screamscape is saying that Haunt world is claiming that Kennywood will replace the Gold Rusher with a new dark ride for 2 million dollars.

I personally think this is one of the stupidest ideas that Kennywood has come up with in awhile and not counting garfields nightmare. I doubt this new dark ride will be anywhere near it's cost and it might get a few good rides in it's first years but it won't be anything special. I think if they were to just save this money up and in 2009 add a coaster with 2 million more to spend. With 4-8 more million dollars they could have a state of the art wooden coaster, buy hey they so far are choosing otherwise.

They have been doing great with the amount of coasters they have so far. I don't see why waiting a few more years is going to hurt anything. IMO, it's a good decisison. IMO, it will be a good addition and will get Kennywood recognized by the dark ride enthusiests.

I hope your right, because I hope to see Kennywood to become a powerhouse soon. I keep hearing that this New Ride is state of the art good stuff. I just would like to see a coaster with inversions. I think soon is the right time to do it and can't wait until they do.

I understand the need for a new dark ride as Garfield's nightmare was a horrible idea. Old mill was WAY BETTER and they should of updated that more than get a 3-D piece of crap. Noah's Ark is a great ride and maybe this new ride is a great idea, but they have left out the thrill crowd for quiet sometime. It's been since 1991 they got a new coaster. That's not counting the remolding of the Steel Phatom or Exterminator which I think is a dark ride. Next year will be the 3rd dark ride they added in 8 years. All they did with their coasters is change and old one in 17 years. It's time for a coaster in my opinion.

| I think they should have added a new coaster also maybe an El Loco or Motorcyle coaster will be added in the next few years. The dark ride does sound kind of cool though. I visited KW last year so I don't think I will be going again until they add something bigger. |

I honestly think its great. Kennywood doesn't have to be another CP and add a coaster every other year. I actually enjoy dark rides. It helps bring in some more gentle riders that may not like coasters.

| I think it looks fun. It was also a great move on their part. They add rides that appeal to the whole family, not just the coaster fanatics. KW is the most relaxing park to visit, along with BGE. CP and KI always seem to be just stress...long lines, not very relaxing atmosphere and you have to rush to TRY and do everything you want. At KW we just took our time and my kids loved it. We even played games, which we NEVER do at CP. Another darkride will just add to the variety of rides. CP may have coasters, but they lack anything else that is unique. |

Where are you getting your facts? CP just added Maverick, which was 3 years after TTD. There is a long stretch between coasters when they build them at CP. And hey if they want to build all those coasters, they can do so. Seems CP has the money, while Kennywood doesn't. Kennywood seems like a day at GL (not WWK too). So you could finish everything at Kennywood in maybe 3 or 4 hours. How fun! I get there at 10 and can leave by 2. Not at CP though, there is so much to do and it is always amazing fun. You also have a great view of a lake unlike Kennywood.

Get your facts right little boy, Maverick was FOUR years after TTD, which is long in modern CP history. Since Blue
Streak in 1964, CP has added coasters in 69, 70, 72, 76, 78, 79, 85 (longest stretch), 87, 89, 91, 94, 96, 99, 2000,
02, 03 and most recently 07.
Compared to Kennywood in the same period (1964-Present) added coasters in 80, 91, 96, 99, and modified one in 2001.
Kennywood does have the money, they just spend it on other things besides coasters. They also have a great view of the Monongahela valley, which is breath taking on pit fall.

Meh he just knocks what he doesn't know. Kennywood is better then CP anyday. I can spend all day in KW and still not ride absolutely everything. Kennywood even keeps their lines under 45 minutes. Where as CP has 1-2 hour lines. Sorry I don't stand in lines that long for mediocre rides.
Now Raptor, take that baby out and put it elsewhere. She deserves a good home.

Kennywood has lines, I have been there with lines on the coasters are an hour, except Racer which had a half hour wait because that ride can move a line.
Also Kennywood is staring as Adventureland in an upcoming film of the same name.

I just find your ignorance as blissful as the summer sun. I really do. You obviously have never been to the park, so you can't say jack crap about it. So shut your pie hole child.
Second, I have seen A TON more Kennywood commercials here in Ohio. I have seen one for CP. And Kennywood opened earlier then CP. Obviously, Kennywood has a better hit with the audience then CP. Know why? CP is so far in debt they can't run more commercials then Kennywood.
If I am delusional...which I know I am not, and the fact that I have been to NUMEROUS parks all over the East coast you child are high on something. You have been to four parks. Your opinion has no bearing on anything. You are so full of crap your eyes are brown. If I acted like you on these boards, my credibility would be shot. Just like yours is. We don't believe a word you say and all you do is give us quite the laugh when you do post ridiculous things such as the quote from above.
Oh and for your comment earlier about not affording CP....I pay all my bills each month, I have a seven year old, bought a new car (with my own money) and provide food for my house.

Ok this is my last post to you and then I am DONE with you. It's already gotten old.
All I hear from people is Kennywood has no lines! Well, if there are no lines that is not a good thing. It is for you, but not the company.
CP has had a ton of commercials here in Michigan and from what I heard there have been a lot of commercials over in Ohio. You're probably just lying about the no commercial thing. Something you're good at.

And um was there a need for you to tell me everything you have purchased in the last month? All I am saying is you have said CP is too expensive and you pretty much said that is a main reason you are not returning. So what does that show? You can't afford it. And if you can't afford CP then oh well. That means then you can never go on vacations anywhere else besides amusement parks. But hey if you want to be at cheap amusement parks 24/7 go ahead!
