I think it would still be growing because it would be one of SF few midwest parks. I still don't know how they choose to keep SFKK over SFWOA. I don't think Darien Lake is better than SFWOA. They skipped over SFWOA to fast in my opinion. No doubt it would still grow.

Six Flags had the animals too and a lot of people liked the idea of being able to see the animals along with the amusement rides.  I remember as a kid when it was Sea World/Geauga Lake, the traffic here in Streetsboro would be backed up all the way out to Kent Roosevelt High School. We used to get stuck in it on our way home from church unless my dad hit the back way first.

Six Flags had the right idea, it's a shame they sold out to Cedar Fair.

I still feel if they left the two parks seperated, then Geauga Lake would still be here as we know it. I know growing up that our families would spend one day at Geauga Lake and another at Sea World! Many people who travel throught the area and are staying for a few days enjoyed the two different parks! But that was the past and the future is very dim for Geauga Lake unless a miracle would bring it back to life! Fat chance though!

^Well the problem with Sea World was that all the state-of-the art rides that they were building across the lake were really impacting Sea World's attenedence + the fact that Busch wanted to get out of Ohio because it was so costly to run a seasonal park in the nasty winter conditions of Ohio and make a profit. Sure, the park was booming in the mid 80's but that era also had less park to take care of hence the fact the park was growing every year and every year guests were expecting more for the same price, add that to less attendence and a high offer from Six Flags IMO Busch was really
a "Real Man of Genius" for selling Sea World.

Good point! I just wonder if they would make an indoor park there and kept the rides, that it would have made more sence than leaving a little waterpark that has very short hours! I know that I am a freeze baby and I would start off at the waterpark, but most of my time was spent on the rides!!

^I Agree, I have gone to the park many times since 2005 and I've only been to the water park twice.

I think that if Cedar Fair had brains and hope they should have made half of WildWater Kingdom indoors so they could use the indoor waterpark in the winter and it would add to WWK in the summer.

The indoor waterpark would have been a better choice to me instead of a tiny waterpark that may have some visitors, but I think that will last maybe a year!

I was just checking out Six Flags information and boy was I surprised to see the changes this year. Is the chain improving or getting worse? They are removing all of the Tower of Doom rides from the parks.  Six Flags MD-Water Slide, SFNJ-Dark Knight, SFGAM-Dark Knight. Removal of Deja Vu (bad move in my opinion they already have a mouse coaster). SFGa-Removal-Deja Vu for Thomas Town (bad move). SF St.Louis-Evil Knievel( Looks great I definately want to ride this one someday) Great Escape-Water slide/Wiggle World, SFNE-Parade SFOT &SFFT-Tony Hawk SFDK-Tony Hawk, SFMM-X2-(Looks great I definately have to ride this one)and lastly SFKK-What is happening to this park? They closed off the Northwest Territory? Tower Of Doom is gone. Twisted Twins, Mile High Falls, Zeppelin, and the cafe are closed for 08'. They added a water slide.  This is starting to look like GL. Are they going to close the park or sell it? I hope they keep it open it has good rides and I would hate to see us loose another park. I like Six Flags as a chain they have good rides but I'm getting tired of repetition in the parks. Why not put more variety into parks, add some coasters you don't see much of like floorless, stand up, flyers, hypers, and new styles. Add some new rides to the smaller parks like Lake George, New England, and KK. Also if they are going to remove a ride from a park for a new attraction announce or advertise it to the public so people can visit the attraction before it's closed not after the fact. I was upset when I heard Psyclone in SFMM  was closed for a children's area and they didn't tell us I never got to ride it.

What killed SW was the fact that they were not allowed to add rides.  And Bainbridge/Aurora was very strict when it came to SW adding anything that would make more noise for the people that lived on the other side of the train tracks.  When SW became an Adventure Park, they wanted to compete with the other parks but they were limited to what they could add.  They should have bought GL and made it a Busch Gardens type park.  They would have done better than Six Flags.  AB knows how to run a company perfectly.  When I worked at SW, they made sure we treated guests like the most important people.  They didn't hire kids that didn't want to work and fired people who didn't follow strict guidelines.  I think paying customers started wanting more for their money and SW couldn't add anything that fit the bill.  I agree that having two seperate parks was the best way to keep GL opened.

The topic is SF not GL. I think if SF still owned GL it would be booming with business right now. It was a great park when SF owned it. I wish they would never had sold it to CF. I wish they would have kept it and sold the International parks.  They could have made it one park and raised the prices. I hated to see the animals go and so did alot of people in this state. It was a part of Ohio for 30 years. That's what killed GL.

If Six Flags was still here we would have basically have the same amout of rides that Cedar Point would have because they we had ten at the time they sold it and Cedar Point only added what 1 or 2 rides since then so if Six Flags added on everyear we would have 13 or 14

Here's something some of you don't understand. Some of you say SF was the good days. Well hate to break it to you but SF would have closed the park even if CF didn't buy it. IF SF never wanted to sell the park, the park would have gotten worse each year. GL would have been gone even sooner than 2007.
