Seems to me Coasterdad was the one who warned everyone to get to the park while they can, or was that b.s. from someone who's fake. I knew the park was closing two weeks before the end of the season and did not want to give my source either, guess that makes me a fake b.s.er also. I'll side with coasterdad on his references. He has not let me down yet.

| I didn't have any notion that the park was going to close either, but I knew my favorite coaster was leaving, so I had to get out to GL to ride it before it was gone. I thought that was enough incentive to come to GL last year. I have been coming to the park every year ever since the RWB'S were built. |

Back on topic......Bill Spehn is still with Cedar Fair, as VP of Operations at Cedar Point (or something like that) -As an ex-full-timer, i chatted with another full-timer who is now at CP after GLP's closure. This was just last week, so yes, he's still around.

Well we knew he wouldn't stay with a failing WWK, he wanted to get to a place where his job is secure. I just doubt hes gone.

Just a quick and important Key note..just checking the geaugalake.com website for new information. It is no longer signed on the letter from Bill Spehn, but instead its signed Thanks from the staff at Wildwater Kingdom park. They didn't even add GL to it... Looks like bills all CP now.

I still don't have any official confirmation of this rumor, but like a said it was from a very reliable source.
It is interesting that they actually took Bills name off of that letter on the WWK site. They haven't bothered to change anything else but they spent time taking his name off - hmmmmm.
When I say Bill is gone I mean he is gone from CF, not just WWK. I sure wouldn't trust any word from CF denying this rumor as we all know how they work by now.

That is interesting. From the outside it looked like he had done Kinzel's bidding in closing down Geauga Lake, denying the rumors he knew to be true up until the end, and that his reward was a return to Cedar Point.
Did he leave voluntarily to take a better position, or was he pushed out? If he was pushed, maybe Kinzel's control is slipping. |

That's for sure. I'll never forget how on Saturday of Oktoberfest I asked Bill if it was true that dominator and thunderhawk were leaving and he said no that's just a silly rumor. In fact we have big plans for the park next year. Big plans alright, they closed it.
If he is gone maybe good old dick is blaming him for the bad publicity. Wouldn't it be funny if dick came out and said it was all Bill's idea to close the ride side.

So that was you who actually head those words from that buffoons mouth? I would love to hear more of how that conversation went. That is such a huge lie of a statement and shows CF's character perfectly. Yeah they had such big plans that the next day he was there with his entire family riding every ride they could.

It was planned villains deconstruction crew showed up the day after closing you can't book someone that quickly..it was planned don't let those little cedar fair bastards make you think differently.

So CP Boy are you trying to tell me that the decision was made after the park's closing day? So then how did they know the exact location of which Dominator and Thunderhawk were going to reside in their new locations. That takes more than a week of planning. And secondly like previously stated deconstruction crews will want more than one day of notice.
