| I was reading on another site that The Racer at KI will no longer have a backwards car...both cars will run forward. The same for KD and another park. Anyone else hear about this? CF is doing wonders. |

What the hell is the point of that, that was the best part of that coaster. I rode it multiple times last time i was there. Bullsh*t! _________________ Geauga Lake I will miss you! |

The KI fans are not happy about this move and I'm not either. Backwards is the only way I ride Racer (well except for an occasssional forwards ride thrown in). _________________ On September 21, 2007, a historic 119-year old amusement park had been secretly murdered. Never forget it. |

I am not happy about this, as backwards is what made the ride worth riding. Considering every time I visited the the park backwards always had more of a line. Guess CF does not care what the guests like. _________________ Never forget all of the memories of Geauga Lake |

Well, it is proably for safety precautions. I mean why else would they do that? _________________ Where are you May 10th?!? |

U do not believe it is for safety precautions as it has been running backwards for years. Could it be possibly so that Kings Island doesnt have something that Cedar Point does not. _________________ Never forget all of the memories of Geauga Lake |

The Racer has been going backwards since 1982, with no major safety problems. Most like cedar fair is doing this so they can operate it like Gemini, meanung they can operate only on side to save on cost. That's what CF is all about, money. _________________ Confidentiality is telling one person at a time. |

| This is yet again another stupid cf move. It was so fun in the backwards train. I tried it in the forwards train and it was just OK. Also, at cedar point last year anyone notice that only one train was going on the gemini sometimes. I understand it could be mechanical issues or something but I went there like 10 times during the summer and like 4-5 days only 1 train ran. |

I believe this to be more of the reason. Before I make my next statement,
I'll be the first to admit I am not an expert on coasters. I don't know all the different types or makers or how they run. I just like to ride them.
Anyway back to my original statement, the reason I feel shipwreckmatt's comment to be more of the reason is because last summer I asked a CP worker why they don't run one of the Gemini trains backwards like they do down at KI, I was rudely told because they are two totally different types of trains and its not possible to run one of Gemini's backwards. _________________ "Be ashamed to die until you have achieved

It is too possible... just take the (anti-rollbacks) part of the train that makes sure that you don't go anywhere if the chain on the lift hill stops, and reverse them. You get what I'm saying? _________________ 2008 - Mantis Crew

CP does not always run one side. You need 4 extra workers to run another side on Gemini, so they are not trying to conserve money on that. When it's not crowded, why run two sides and need 4 extra workers? They always run two sides though on busy days. _________________ Where are you May 10th?!? |

If you are going to advertise a ride thusly...
The Gemini roller coaster at Cedar Point gives riders an opportunity for bragging rights to the fastest train, as not one, but two trains run simultaneously on parallel tracks and race for a first-place finish. Guests cheer on either the red or blue train down the mammoth first hill, around wide bends and down the famous "low beam" hill that you must experience to believe. Even those who have ridden Gemini 100 times in one day say that no two rides are ever the same., then you damn well should run both sides all the time! That's straight from the Cedar Point website, and I would be disappointed if I decided to spend my money to go to Cedar Point and found only one side of Gemini running. The racing aspect is what Gemini is all about. _________________ |

And also that the word gemini means twin. And without the coaster racing it is a very boring ride. _________________ Never forget all of the memories of Geauga Lake |

What? Can you explain how having four less employees salaries to pay is not conserving money? |

I've rode the racer numerous times without falling out or having any problems. It can't be safety. Its all cedar fair just wanting to piss off more customers as always. _________________ Geauga Lake I will miss you! |
