So I see Ray P is harassing someone new now. Don't you have anything better to do than harassing anyone who disagrees with you?

I don't think it was you that caused trouble its more like afrmom/CPboy, he needs to be booted. Sure he has an honest opinion ( we do like that ) but at the same time its like he wants to cause trouble.

I just want to say that it almost makes me physically ill thinking about the whole auction thing.  I still can't believe the park is closed and all those great memories will never be revisited except in my mind.

I'm planning on flying back from California to the auction, that is if it is public.  I too would like some minor souveniers - signs, mugs, posters, etc - and even have one last stroll back through the park.  Not sure how realistic it is to think that I'll get some of these items but just walking back through the park to say goodbye would be worth it.

I'm not sure any more actions can be taken to try and save the rides that still exist - but I sure as heck hope I'm wrong.

Sad

Skyglider, I will admit that I apologized to Fun in a PM.  And I wasn't being a jackass about it.  It was a sincere apology.

I also removed my brochure to alleviate any other arguing.

Ray P.,

I was not even thinking of you as one of the potential vocal individuals that Fun implied might disrupt the auction.  I have learned a lot from your posts & photos about both Geauga Lake and the industry, keep up the good work (good brochure by the way).

I wonder how they will do the auction, if the pending massive demolition rumors are even partly true, that park will be pretty ripped up between now and June.

I am interested in contacting both Waldameer & Kennywood, in the hopes that I can peak their interest in the auction, especially for 2 rides.
Two rides that are both family favorites and special/hard-to-find are
(1) Beaverland Mine Ride/formerly 'Roadrunner Express'...a great family and entry-style steel coaster, of which was the first coaster that my Godson ever rode!

Waldameer has Ravine Flyer III, and Kennywood has mini Phantom. I doubt they'll be interested in BLMR...

Agreed but just so you know its Ravine Flyer II not 3. You can check for yourself if you like.

BLMR/RRXpress is/was a superior ride to either of them...if you have kids that you take to the parks, you'd know...BLMR is more of a family ride than a kiddie ride (25-30mph)....RF3 comes close, but Junior Phantom is junk compared to BLMR.

Well then it would benefit Kennywood more for BLMR. They could buy it and replace junior phantom. They could get it for a good price.

No, the family coaster is Ravine Flyer 3.  Ravine Flyer II is the new (bigger) coaster that opens this year. You can check for yourself if you'd like.

The Norton's website information on Geauga Lake is now updated to indicate "Color Brochure Available in April"

So did you guys see the story today that it appears Big Dipper, RWB, and the Villian are likely headed for "the auction lot".  Although I hate to say it, Cedar Fair I guess means business when they said Big Dipper will not be staying on the property.

I saw one article, on channel 5's website that says and I quote "They include: the Big Dipper, Villain, and Raging Wolf Bobs. They all could end up at a Michigan auction house in June."

Does this imply that perhaps the auction wont be held at the park at all?  And that the last go through some of us talked about, may not happen at all?  And that maybe everything is going to be taken apart and shipped to Michigan?  Kinda odd dont you think?

They just want to avoid confrontation that might happen during the auction, which shouldn't happen given the fact I'm sure there will be plenty of security around to prevent that.
