I think the reason everyone jumps on him is because of the following. Geauga Lake's closing is very upsetting to us. To hear Cedar Point getting this and that all the time is like throwing salt on a fresh wound. I'm not saying the whole demise of the park is CF's fault, but the way they handled everything has left people with a bad feeling about the company. Cpboy is entitled to his own opinions, freedom of speech, but why keep making posts about a subject that gets people so fired-up? In my opinion that sounds like someone who likes to start trouble. There are plenty of amusement park forums around where someone might actually care what Cedar Point is doing. Normally I ignore his posts, as it is my right, but seeing the name Cedar Point on the main forum page is a constant reminder of how mad I am at CF. Do I think he should be banned? No. But if he wants respect, he needs to meet us half way and tone down the CP stuff.

Thats very true it is just upsetting ! But still he shouldnt have to go to another forum just to talk about Cedar Fair and Cedar Point ecpecially if its posted in Industry Discussion! His latest post was all about the construction up at Cedar Point basically is was just more construction photos and the first person to reply had immediatley stated "By you the hell cares" so from the looks of it sometimes he starts it and sometimes he doesnt ! |

I have to agree with Sohio, If you do look back at the posts the ones where everyone jumps on cpboy are the ones where he brags about how wonderful cf is. Look at the last post he made. It was a post showing just a bunch of dirt and some footers being installed. You may think it was an innocent post, but its not! To many here {myself included} it's just an ugly reminder that cf closed our beloved park to rape and pillage her for her rides. Cpboy seems to take great delight in rubbing salt in our wounds that is why I blew up at him. I defended him once, when he post and innocent post about a movie, I even got him an apology from the person who jumped all over him. If he would post innocent topics talking about other parks or anything else besides cf I would respect his opinions. But as long as he takes great joy in taunting us that our beloved and cherished park is closed and the park behind its closing is still open, I will not respect him. I mean really look at his signature "where are you on May 10th" if that's not a slap in our faces then I don't know what is.
Last time I checked this was a Geauga Lake website. Not a lets kick Geauga Lake fans while their down website. And yes Coasterdad and Gunkey are very fair.

Industry Discussion is a place to discuss ANY amusement park company. It doesn't mean every company besides CF. I am not trying to rub anything in your faces. I am just giving updates out to the people who do care like ChrisC, RayP, and a few others. This is not an anti-Cedar Fair site, this is a GL site with a little space to talk about the industry. You are acting like we are not allowed to talk about CF. You sure do seem to talk about them a lot, why can't I? If you don't care for my topics-ignore them. Just don't say anything, because a lot of people are getting sick of this BS back and forth crap. I will also continue to ignore anything that you say that I find totally ridiculous. If you can keep quiet and I can things will be a lot better around here. And about my signature I'm just getting excited for the summer, just like you are. You are excited for Kennywood, Dollywood, or wherever you're going to go and I am excited for Cedar Point.

Its funny how one or a whole bunch of peoples opinions about a company can change in 4 years ! I personally never really cared for Cedar Fair i loved Six Flags ! But when Cedar Fair came in everyone was like oh we cant wait were going to be Cedar Point South,but then they decided to shut it down and you threw it out as fast as could like it was a peice of trash! Just think back you did love cedar fair if they wouldnt of shut it down or started to take things out and added stuff you would still very much love Cedar Fair! |

I don't have a problem with talking about CF and its other parks but when it comes to some posts, that when read, appear to have an air of shoving it in our face and sounds like it "glorifies" the closing of our beloved park, then I have a problem with that and need to draw a line. This is where many of the confrontations stem from. Keep it civil and think before you post.
I wasn't exactly all "Yay, Cedar Fair owns GL now" when they first took over but seeing how they run their parks I was looking at it from a "bright future" side of things. Unfortunately that future ended up being dimmed right away. |

Well I'm going to go with what Sohio said. Not to just be agreeable, but thats pretty much how I feel myself. Couldn't of put it in better words.

I think Coasterdad and GunkeyMonkey have put up with a lot of BS from a certain person. Yes that person has rights and opinions to express, but that doesn't mean they have the right to try and ram them down everyone else's throats. I wasn't going to comment on this thread, but unless the person is a relative of someone at CF/CP I can't imagine how he finds out (or pretends to) the information he throws up here to try and make us swallow. As has been stated by many others, this is a GL Forum created for those to talk about Geauga Lake, our love for our beloved park, our memories etc. If someone has a differing opinion, fine, just don't expect some of us to agree with you, and then get mad about it when we differ with your opinion. Coasterdad and GunkeyMonkey, I applaud you, because I don't know if I could have been as tolerant as you have been the past several months. Keep up the good work! |
