| Thanks for the pics! I think it is that site that you can see it in a satlelite view also! Seeing that does bring back some great memories! That ride was one of my favories! I remember the long line to just get on it! I also remember at the end of the da, my brother and I would have to make it our last ride of the day! I loved when it wasn't busy, the ride ops would let you stay on the rideand ride it again! Those were somegreat times! |

| WOW!! It looks so neat to see Corkscrew running...and the passengers look so happy. It looks like Corkscrew got a good home and has been treated well. Too bad we can't say that about all the other rides at Geauga Lake. Cedar unFair has done a complete disservice to Geauga Lake, it's rides and it's patrons. Geauga Lake will always live in my heart...Cedar Point has left me with a sour taste and I will no longer visit any Cedar Fair property. |

| I remember taking my grandsons to geauga Lake and they would ride the corkscrew over and over again. if it was a slow day they would just stay on and wave at me as they rode . i would sit on the bench and watch the world go bye without a care. shame that has all been taken away. |

Is there a giant Tiger in the middle of the coaster? |

Seeing those pictures brought back memories of when I was a child and I loved to ride the Corkscrew. I'm glad it found a good home and is being taken care of. I hope the other rides that are left will find good homes also.

| Yup, that looked like a Tiger to me. It looked to be located in the greenspace between the track. The landscaping looks beautiful and it looks like the ride has been maintained very well. When you think about it, that ride is probably about 30 years old...and it looks great. Look in the background and it looks like something like a Scrambler is off to the right in one of the pictures. That, too, looks to be in very good condition. Too bad the previous owners (Six Flags AND Cedar Fair) didn't give a care about our Geauga Lake. |

Not only is that a giant tiger in the corkscrews, but I just noticed they kept the supports that were added when the Euroracers track ran under part of the Corkscrew. _________________ |

Toward the end of her life my grandmother would take me to Geauga Lake and do the same... age and chemo/radiation had robbed her of her ability to ride the coasters (or to keep up with a pre-teen who'd been up for days thinking about going to the park with Grandma).
I still remember her sitting on a bench or leaning on a railing just watching the world... I wonder what was going through her mind at the time. Considering she was a Cleveland native I sort of wonder if she was remembering her own "back-in-the-day" moments at the park (or Euclid Beach / Brady Lake / etc).
Many years later my mother came with me to the park... this time age and poor health put her in a similar place as my grandmother sat so many years before but she loved to go there anyway, again just to watch people and be in the energy of the park.
Thinking of those memories I'm reminded of seeing Gasper sitting at the fountain on auction days... again, age (and probably memories) kept him from joining in the "fun" but I have a feeling the memories going through his head weren't that different from those of the two most important women in my life.
Geagua Lake (especially back then) was more than rides and fun... even then it was memories - I guess that's what happens after 100+ years. _________________ Positions Held:

my dad died this month, and when i was really little, the first coaster i rode was the big dipper, with him. i don't think i've ever rode it since and not had at least a brief flashback to that first time. it's so sad to now accept both experiences as a thing of the past, confined to a memory. |
