Honestly I'm glad GL decided to do this.  It would have been easy for them to get rid of everything and call it a done deal.  But I think they made the right decision and realized people may want a chance for last souvenirs.

After I saw the post about this I decided to run up to WWK and check out the sale.

The items that are 50% off are only items that contain pictures or words refering to rides, everything else is full price. The signs are a bit deceiving since it says "Geauga Lake Memorabilia 50% off". The kids bought a few things that say Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom and they are full price.
I'm not complaining just a warning to anyone else who may head there.

There were maybe 10 cars in the parking lot while we were there. There were a few people buying season passes and a decent amount of people in the store.

I got there around 5:15-5:30, and there were maybe 30-40 people in the store.  A few were lifeguards in training.  But I found it interesting that a great many people commented how mad they are with the loss of the rides.  Colleen Murphy was walking through the store while I was in line and she did take notice of the conversations... though it wont really matter much.  Had to say I was a little impressed, she does seem nice and the lifeguards in line I was talking to say she is pretty cool to work for.

I noted as well not everything is 50% off.  And you also need to watch with the people ringing the order, the lady in front of me said her daughter bought stuff and they forgot to discount a few of the items that did have ride stuff on them.

Boy, all I have to say is that this should be a very interesting season for Cedar Fair.

Also, I am glad I didn't rush on over for "discounted' items.  I bet they will be stuck with that stuff for a while.

I was there at the sale about 5:15 and it was nice to talk to the people there. I bought some cups and a sweatshirt for 50% off. My kids noticed that when we look through the gates that the sign still says " Geauga Lake and Wild water Kingdom. Wierd. I know that a few people I talked to are planning to come to the auction and they are hoping that someone will save what is left of our beloved park and make it rise from the ashes. I know that as they say it is not over until the fat lady sings, I know that there is a light still glowing until the fat bulldozers come. Keep our fingers crossed!!!

I was there at 5.  I was happy to finally get a few things to remember GL.  I did find it odd that there was nothing with BD on it.  Of all the postcards they had, not one was of BD.  There wasn't even a shirt with the Dipper on it...except for ones with all the coasters grouped together.  I thought the selection was good...alot of shirts.

Did they have anything Peanuts with just GL on it?

I wanted to get T's like that last season in the main shops, but hey I was in a cheap mode & thought they wanted to much.

They did have Peanuts stuff.  I did see someone with a Peanuts shirt that was GL at night and Snoopy looking at the park...or something like that.  They also had some other Peanuts stuff.  Like they said before...you had to watch what you bought because not everything was 50% off.  I bought one thing and the guy asked the lady if it was 50% off and she said "it says amusement on it...so yes".  So if it has rides on it, I guess you are safe.
