Does anyone want to list what they bought at the 50% clearance sale, and at what price?

I went to the shop today hoping to find some Peanut/Geauga Lake shirts that I was going to get at the Octoberfest, but didn't.

Very little Peanuts related stuff.  What was there & 50% off really wasn't any of the nicer stuff.  I find it hard to believe with all the stuff that was in that Peanut shop, that this was all that was left.

They probably have more that they will be pulling out later.  Peter B. -- are they taking requests for particular items like the Peanuts & rides shirts?

I would say the answer to that question is yes.  The girl behind the counter heard me talking on my cell about a snowglobe my daughter wanted and when I mentioned I didnt find it, she said if you describe it and leave me info how to comntact you I will see if we have it.  So I would assume that applies to shirts and other memoribilla as well.

I went up there today (Sunday) to see what I could find.  Overall I was pretty impressed as they had quite a large selection with numerous sizes, colors, etc.  One woman working there commented on how poorly the closure was handled, after we said we were glad they opened a store.  There weren't a ton of people there, maybe 10 different people during a 1.5 hour period, but a steady stream of people were getting their passes processed.

Here is the official policy for things that are 50% off:

1.  Anything that says "Geauga Lake Family Amusement Park"

OR

2.  Anything that has a picture of a roller coaster or ride, or the name of a roller coaster or ride, or "roller coaster" or "ride" printed on the item

Most things in the store fit that description, but there are a few generic "Geauga Lake" items that do not count.

I got a nice collection of post cards, two t-shirts (one for Villain and one for Geauga Lake in general with pictures of Double Loop, Steel Venom, and another coaster), a keychain for Villain, a collection of shot glasses with stats of various coasters and their logos, a decorative glass with all the rides listed on the back, and quite a bit of other stuff.

I will probably be going back next weekend again too, as they said they will have new merchandise out in the coming weekends.  But as mentioned before, there is not a lot of Peanut's merchandise, and there is very little merchandise related to the classic coasters (Big Dipper, Raging Wolf Bobs, etc).  But still I'm glad I had a chance to go up and get so much.

I know that when I was there, the workers were very nice. I know that with all this mess that it is hard for evryone to understand why the park closed.  I hope that out of fairness that no matter what that we should not be mean to the people working there. They are doing their job.

You are right.  Be nice to the hourly employees.  HOWEVER...
I think it's OK to be mean if we see people like Kinzel, Spehn, or anyone else either responsible for what happened, or anyone who lied about what was going on with the park.

I have a very low tolerance for liars.  Anyone that lies to me is definitely going to hear about it.

I'm hitting the gift shop tonight between 5-6. Maybe I'll see some of you there. Do they take debit cards?

Just got back from there. As much as I hate giving dick any of my money, we did buy a few items to honor our park. There were even a few with the old emblem on it.  Smile Would you believe there was a parking spot reserved for kinzel?  Sad

I was there at 5. I got the Last Big Dipper shirt. I cut work early walked into the gift shop and my wife and kids were already there. All in all we spend $90 some dollers. The lady behind the counter said they still have tons more to sell in storage. So everyone should keep checking back for more good deals.

they had a lot t-shirts of all the coasters, except for the Big Dipper and Beaver land Mine Ride. There was also a lot of postcards. The only thing I found with the Big Dipper logo was a shot glass, but it had a Michigans Adventure logo on it.

Did those that made that statement also say they've purchased memorabilia?

I'm sure we all didn't say that.
I'm sure we all haven't purchased items.

Oh well, I digress.

Just noted the "Free Towel" with membership offer has been extended til 5-9.

Overheard, they have a  ton of towels to unload & no ones buying them.

The guy in the shop told me that the free towel is just to pick one out of a couple in the store, the 2 he showed me in the store were the GL "What a Day" with Charlie Brown & Snoopy & the other looked like it had rides on it.  Looks like they're just unloading the old stuff.

Then why isn't  the plain GL stuff 50% off.
