I just unearthed a whole ton of "classic" amusement park brochures and advertisements that I am in the process of scanning, but one particular one stood out that I thought some folks here may like.  It's a full-page Geauga Lake ad from the Plain Dealer featuring "The Wave".  It's nothing earth-shattering, but for the historians that enjoy that sort of thing, it's worth a look.

Now, here's the catch.  I am limiting access to this.  If you would like to see this ad, send me a PM through the forum PM feature and I may just send the link and password back to you.  I reserve all rights as to who I send and don't send the password out to.  I will check my PM's once a day to see if I get any responses.

Coming to this gallery soon will also be:

- 1983 Magic Kingdom guidebook
- 1983 Disneyland brochure/guide map
- 1980, 81, 85-89 Cedar Point park guides and press kits for Mean Streak and Raptor
- 1982 Epcot Center brochure (pre-opening, all artist renderings)
- 1986 Opryland brochure
- 1986 Lakeside park brochure (Roanoke, Virginia, now-defunct, really crappy brochure)
- 1986 Miracle Strip brochure (Panama City Beach, FL, now-defunct)

and several other unique items that are sure to be of interest to those who enjoy taking a look back at when this hobby was actually fun.  I found an entire box of junk I haven't even looked at yet, so I am looking forward to finding exactly what I have in there.

Thanks Ray, nice bit of memorabilia!  Funtime Inc. really did such a good job with the park, I remember seeing ads for The Wave everywhere!

I have added a 1985 Sea World Ohio brochure to the gallery.  More to come later this weekend.  Password and link is still the same.

Welcome back Ray P.! Thanks for making that available. Sometimes "Google is not your friend" when looking for old Geauga Lake stuff.

Update:  I just added a very cool souvenir picture booklet of Cedar Point from 1979.  I know CP is sort of a sore spot among some folks, but this book brought back a lot of great memories.  Pics include the Chance/Herschell Sky Wheel, the Fun House, Sealand Aquarium, and even a shot of Shoot-The-Rapids.  Great stuff here.  Link and password for those who have it is still valid.

More cool stuff to come as I find free time.  It's Finals Week next week and I have a lot to get done.

Thanks Ray P. I have to agree with Dominator56 those pictures did bring back memories of cp before it lost all its character and charm. Those were great water rides back then. So much better than what they have now.

If its not too late good luck on your finals. If you don't mind me asking what are you majoring in?

^ Agreed on the CP water rides.  Shoot The Rapids was INSANELY popular (lines often stretched past the Mine Ride entrance) and was a pretty sweet ride with its double drop finale.  Even Mill race was a good ride.  It was nice to be able to go on a water ride without having to wring your clothes out when you disembark.

Thanks for the good luck as I do have a final tomorrow... and even though I already have a degree, I am back in school at age 37 working towards a Graphic Design degree.  Hence why I was rather critical of the WWK brochure.  We all know how well that went over...

And for those that have the link to my Photo Gallery, I have added a 1982 EPCOT poster map.  More to come when I get some free time this weekend.  Password is no longer required... for now!
