You clueless little boy, no one ever said that.
We are just confused because in one breath Cedar Fair closes on of their parks rich in history but in the other breath they tout historical significance of parks with less history behind them. They just cant seem to get it straight, and obviously neither can you. _________________ Greed is what caused GL's demise and that just makes me sick. Just-released results of the organization’s 22nd annual survey — said to be the oldest of its type covering the amusement park business — ranked the 310-foot, 93-mph Millennium Force the No. 1 “Favorite Steel Coaster,” with the 205-foot, 72-mph Magnum XL-200 ranked third.
Absolutely nothing to do with history, just a report on Millennium Force receiving "No. 1 favorite steel coaster". _________________ |

Yes, yes, a fine award for a fine park. Fifth place for Cedar Point, pretty good (although weren't they 4th last year? ).
Also, did you notice Kennywood got 1st place? _________________ "It's a very special ride. We want to make sure it has a proper home." CF Spokesperson Robin Innes about the Big Dipper.

Least the food and ticket prices at Kennywood are reasonable than at CP. Also, the atmosphere at that "sucky" park is a hell of a lot better than the park ranked second. _________________ "What we do in life, echoes in eternity."

Poor cp the park didn't fair well on this survey. But at least the coasters did ok. _________________ "Be ashamed to die until you have achieved

Lol, they did great. Who are you trying to kid?
Let's see,
FAVORITE TRADITIONAL PARKS
5
Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH)
Theme park of course CP won't win because it isn't a theme park.
Best for families and most beautiful, well CP is for teens and most beautiful of course Disney will take that.
FAVORITE STEEL COASTER
1
Millennium Force, Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH)
3
Magnum XL200, Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH)
BEST NEW ATTRACTION
1
Maverick, Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH)
Hmmm, seems Kennywood won a lot of things. I guess they are better than CP now, with their whopping 5 coasters! Woot, woot! _________________ Cedar Point-The best park on the planet!

FAVORITE TRADITIONAL PARKS
* Kennywood regained its number one ranking, a position it has held since 1992, until last year when it dropped to the second spot.
* Blackpool and Cedar Point have been in the top five for more than fifteen years, while Indiana Beach is a relative newcomer, only appearing on the list since 2006.
FAVORITE TRADITIONAL PARKS
1 Kennywood (West Mifflin, PA)
2 Knoebels Amusement Resort (Elysburg, PA)
3 Indiana Beach (Monticello, IN)
4 Blackpool Pleasure Beach (Blackpool, UK)
5 Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH)
FAVORITE THEME PARKS
* Walt Disney World has been members’ favorite theme park since 2003.
* Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure is back in the top three after being off the list for two years.
FAVORITE THEME PARKS
1 Walt Disney World (Lake Buena Vista, FL)
2 Disneyland (Anaheim, CA)

4-tie Hersheypark (Hershey, PA)
4-tie Holiday World (Santa Claus, IN)
4-tie Kings Island (Kings Island, OH)
BEST PARK FOR FAMILIES
* Knoebels Amusement Resort and Walt Disney World tied for the top spot. Both parks have been in the top five since the question originated in 1999, with Knoebels named as the Favorite Park For Families eight out of the last nine years.
BEST PARK FOR FAMILIES
1-tie Knoebels Amusement Resort (Elysburg, PA)
1-tie Walt Disney World (Lake Buena Vista, FL)
3 Holiday World (Santa Claus, IN)
4 Idlewild and Soak Zone (Ligonier, PA)
5 Kennywood (West Mifflin, PA)

* Walt Disney World has held the second place for the last three years, with De Efteling in the top five since 2001.
MOST BEAUTIFUL PARK
1 Busch Gardens Europe (Williamsburg, VA)
2 Walt Disney World (Lake Buena Vista, FL)
3 De Efteling (Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands)
FAVORITE WOOD COASTER
* Tied for number one with Knoebels’ Phoenix, the Voyage (Holiday World) jumped to the top in only its second year. Last year it was members’ second favorite wood roller coaster.
FAVORITE WOOD COASTER
1-tie Phoenix, Knoebels Amusement Resort (Elysburg, PA)
1-tie Voyage, Holiday World (Santa Claus, IN)
3 Thunderhead, Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, TN)
4-tie Beast, Kings Island (Kings Island, OH)
4-tie Lightning Racer, Hersheypark (Hershey, PA)
FAVORITE STEEL COASTER
* Since Millennium Force first appeared in the standings in 2000, Cedar Point’s Magnum XL200 and Millennium Force have been in either the number one or number two position… until this year. Superman has now edged into the second spot, pushing Magnum XL200 to number three.

BEST NEW ATTRACTION
1 Maverick, Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH)
2 Mystery Mine, Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, TN)
3 Renegade, Valleyfair!, (Shakopee, MN)
The National Amusement Park Historical Association, founded in 1978, is an international, educational and enthusiast’s organization dedicated to preserving and documenting the heritage of the amusement park industry, past, present and future.
Few interesting things to note. Although Cedar Point keeps adding coasters, it has not helped it in the voting for best traditional park. Seems that sheer volume comes up short when the overall park is judged. Planet Snoopy is a step in the right direction, but Cedar Point really needs to focus on the atmosphere more. While Maverick is a great ride itself, take one look at Black Mamba http://www.rcdb.com/id3117.htm and see how much more could have been done with the theming.
Kennywood and Knoebels got top spots in favorite traditional park, and scored high in best park for families. Cedar Point should be worried, attracting families is becoming more and more important. Again, Planet Snoopy is a step, but many more are needed.
Knoebels got third for most beautiful park and first for favorite wooden coater. It's the little park that can! _________________ |

| Here we go again. Damn, CP doesn't need to be defended. We all know it is a great park. It isn't the best, but has the best of some things. Same as every other park. KW does deserve recognition, I love the place. And BGE is great and it has the best atmosphere of any park I've ever been to. I love CP, hate the company. If you have never been to any park besides CP, then you shouldn't put other parks down or say it is better than a park you have never visited. Anyway, I love them all...which is what an enthusiest is I believe. |

| KW is an amazing park. The variety of historic rides is great. The Kangaroo ride made me laugh more than any ride in years and Noah's Ark is a great piece of history. Exterminator is definately different. The variety of coasters is also great, it may not have many but they are all great. Jackrabbit is also a great historical coaster. The double dip is pretty cool. See? Same as CP, variety makes it an amazing park. I wish GL had stuck to the old rides and that would have helped it along. |
