I saw a bumper for a KDKA (pittsburgh) news story and it showed the anchor saying about getting in a ride on a Kennywood ride beore it closes, but I was at work tonight and missed the story, so I didn't see which ride it was.
Must've been Goldrusher.
She made it sound like a major ride though, but don't they all.

Bayern Kurve is a childhood favorite and made sure I rode it everytime I was at CP back in the day. You don't know how overjoyed I was the first time I went to KW (that was when PR was "new") to see it sitting there by the Grand Prix.

With the trend in parks adding interactive dark rides, like has been previously mentioned, I think that would probably be the best alternative to the Gold Rusher.

I don't know.
I can't really see Kennywood adding an interactive dark ride. It just doesn't seem like their style to me, and I've been going to Kennywood every summer since I was little.

Why on Earth would Kennywood remove the Lil Phantom?  That makes absolutely no sense.

Secondly, Goldrush is definitly gone, Friday will be its last day of operation.  I'm almost certain that a new dark ride will take its place next season.

Lastly, Kennywood will not be getting any kind of looping coaster anytime soon...They don't have the means of financing such a coaster until the Mon Valley Expressway is complete.

By the way Alex, can you please try to put more effort into your posts by checking your spelling and whatnot.  You're posts are hard to read sometimes and I think it would benefit us all.  Thanks!

Wow, someone is being a little harsh. I'm not getting into the middle of it, but I don't think there is any need for such harsh words.
I can see Goldrush going, but I can't see an interactive dark ride being in it's place. Maybe an updated dark ride, but not interactive. It's just not the park's style.
I don't know about the no coaster thing. I think it's a possibility. Maybe not 100% likely, but possible.
I know that the park is waiting to add a major coaster when the Expressway is finished, but we'll see.

I wasn't trying to be harsh, but its not that hard to read over your posts before posting them to make sure they're readable.  It makes it a lot easier for everyone.

Sorry if I came across as a jerk.

Sorry to get off topic but...

Alex has been told more than three times to stop with the shorthand and yet he refuses. Is it so hard to add that extra letter like adding the "a" in tht or the "o" in knw?

I don't want to come across like a jerk or even turn these boards into CBuzz Lite but we may have to set up a course of action to get the point across.

Back on topic - I can only see KW remain on the course they are on now by adding smaller attractions until they are ready to expand. I would be surprised if a coaster comes within the next two to three years.

I totally agree with you Gunkey.  I'd expect the park to continue adding smaller attractions like Swingshot and Cosmic Chaos for several more years until they are financially capable of purchasing a much larger attraction like a new wooden or steel coaster.

No, I wasn't suggesting you guys were jerks, I just thought it was a little harsh.
I guess it's understandable thought if Alex has been asked numerous times.
If Kennywood hadn't added Cosmic Chaos, I would've loved to see them add a Giant Frisbee.

were not trying to be harsh but he just wont stop doing it no matter how much we tell him. Anyways I don’t know much about Kennywood but being a teen, im not a big fan of old rides so the park never really interested me enough to visit.

No problem, Bodes08. I understand where you're coming from and how you thought the comments were a little harsh. As has been noted before, we appreciate Alex's comments and participation but it is getting very annoying in the way he posts.

ClevelandRocks, you should check out KW at least once.  They have some rare classics as well as some modern thrillers mixed in a beautiful tree-filled location.

The only thing I hate about the park is trying to get there from here (though I love looking at the downtown Pittsburgh skyline).

Alrighty. Oh, and for future reference, you can just say Bodes. You don't have to toss the 08 on the end.

ClevelandRocks, you really should give Kennywood a try sometime. I'm 18 and I love nothing more than modern, intense thrill rides, but Kennywood is just such a great park.
They have great classic rides which still provide great thrills, as well as amazing newer rides which also give big thrills.
The park itself is beautiful and very well kept.
It's a park every amusement park lover should check out.
It's a classic.

Wow theres some cry baby's in this place. Clevland dude you never said anything to me so fall back. MY mistake Gunkey. Eastcoast07 im telling you right now you dont know more than me about kennywood. There suppose to get rid of the lil phantom in a year or two and build a new kiddie coaster down the road. The looping coaster might happen might not. They'll definately get a new coaster with in two years. I dont know how to do that spell check by the way.
