They don't have the room or the money to get anything as big as this. They also won't pull a CF and cram it in just to have it. Unlike CF, Kennywood thinks and makes the smart decision. I think next year they will add a new ride, but doubt it is a coaster. It could be a coaster but their website says stayed tuned for updates for a new ride. It will replace the Gold Rusher dark ride and it is not a coaster. Now, as for 2009 and beyond, who knows?

If they got another dark that would be two new dark rides in the past 5 years! That's horrible, because Garfield's nightmare is terrible and everyone like Old Mill better. Now to add another dark ride that probably won't be worth it and not to add a coaster since 1991 is pretty bad. They're more interested in catering to the local Pittsburgh population, and only recently have started advertising in Cleveland.  Corporate, school, nationality, and other types of group picnics are what drives most of Kennywood's attendance.   And it's quite possible that a new coaster will appear at Kennywood someday.  It just won't be happenning in 2008.

I think Kennywood does want to compete with CP and I know CF is intimidated by Kennywood. I'm not saying KW is better than CP, even though I think it is and I'm not being bias. KW generates a lot of money during phantom fright nights. Their best month is October, and I know this because I went to the park mutliple times each month and it was more crowded on phantom fright nights. The fans desrve a new coaster at Kennywood because like I said they have gotten a real coaster since 1991.
