looks like I MIGHT be going to CP this year. Well my fiance's mom gets us these special deal tickets. I know everyone will or still is anti-cedar fair. I'm going to go with an empty and open mind. I'm still a park enthusiast at heart (no matter who owns the park, six flags or cedar fair, or ect) It will all depend on my finances...since its coming up in June I have a lot happening in my life in June so right now things are not set in stone...but IF I do go I will give you a TR and my  load of opinions on the park this year (and the company). Right now I don't know much about what I'm doing other then the set things (like Kennywood, Ildewild and Waldemeer)

Also even though I might be going I still don't think I'll ever be able to truly give up my thoughts about cedar fair closing Geauga Lake because that was my home park and it has a very special place in my heart. (for those of you who might want to attack my opinions)

So basically I'm trying to start over, but so hard when you can't trust the company that closed your park. It makes everything so much harder.

Oh, come on, Dominator....
If you absolutely feel that you MUST go to Cedar Point, just don't spend a dime in the park!!!

My dad keeps bugging me...asking me when we can go...I keep telling him no, not yet...pass center would be too busy.  Most of it is that I don't really care to go at all.

Unfortunately, I have 5 CP season pass vouchers that I can't get refunds for (they would send the refund to the purchaser, which is my dad).

IF I do go, you'd better believe I will wear my homemade Geauga Lake shirt that bashes Cedar Fair, I won't be spending a dime, and of course, I will be running my big mouth.  (Picture this...2 huge security guys carrying me out of the park as I am kicking and screaming....ROFL)

I'm sure that would be on the news....LOL

News flash, you can bet your bottom dollar this SOB will never step foot into a CF park as long as I live.

Of course there are those who weaken at the knees this time of year, but for me, it's just a painful reminder of where I cannot go this summer to enjoy my once favorite ride park.

My views will never change. I have too many other options around me that are not CF and have a much better experience.

If Cedar Fair ever died, I'd be the first to piss on it's grave.

As much as I love WWK I have no intention of going there this summer. I would love nothing more than to visit my once favorite parks after next weekend. But unfortunately the greed of some people have changed my mind about giving them any money. As a matter of fact I was given passes to WWK for Christmas and I sold them on eBay. I have seen other excuses on here about passes being given to them as gifts but they still go. I feel if these people really cared for what happened they would not even give CF the benefit of extra attendance numbers.

I also feel it is very childish to display negativity toward GL on clothing. Just don't go, its that simple!

OK, WWKrulez...are you really CFVIP in disguise?
Sure seems like it.
I am not going to waste my typing on the utter garbage that you posted.
The only thing I WILL say is this:  Isn't ANY amusement park lover a child at heart?

No, I am not CFVIP. I am simply stating my opinion and I think that if one really cared and loved GL (as you state in your user name) you could stand to stay away from CP for one season at least. I love amusement parks and especially waterparks but I would not go to a CF even for free! I do not feel that I should help them out in any way for what they did. While it might be a good intention to show how you feel displayed on your clothing and most employees probably feel as you do it really isn't going to do anything buy possibly get you kicked out of the park.

They wouldn't kick me out of the park, WWKrulez.  I've worn the shirt a few times in the fall and nothing like that happened, except for all the comments I got about people agreeing.  People took pictures of it, too.

It did get Spehn a little riled up though.  And no, he didn't kick me out.  I spoke to him very politely...he's an idiot.

Its not that I'm pressured to go, or that I've been "weakened at the knees". I've always felt as an enthusiast, my duty is to fulfill my right to fun.  Sure what happened to Geauga Lake was horrible, undeserving, and unforgivable but, being Anti-Cedar Fair isn't going to bring my beloved Geauga Lake back. Its happened, its gone, its over.  I guess I've come to the conclusion that I need to just enjoy what I want (including non cedar fair and smaller parks) so that this might not happen to another park.  Right now I just want to have fun, and thats all I intend on doing no matter who owns the park. I mean what more can you do to remember the lake (Geauga Lake), we have this wonderful site where we can gather together our thoughts about our great memories, we have pictures courtesy of Gunkey and Coasterdad and those who have contributed to th threads.

Honestly this site seems more like home because it is still called Geauga Lake Today, and everytime I visit I get to see pictures of my beloved Geauga Lake just the way I want to remember it. I don't want to remember Geauga Lake any other way. So in simple terms I'm just simply moving on so that my thoughts of Geauga Lake stay just as they are now. (preserved forever in memory).

I guess if I were 20 something or younger it might be hard for me to resist going to the same place Ive been going year after year after year. Call it not wanting to resist change I guess and being a stubborn know it all youth. Also if I had kids that still enjoyed the place it might change things. But I have better things to do with my time than to stand in line for hours for a ride I have been on a zillion times, its time to venture out and try something different. To all that still feel the need to spend fun hours in line have fun god bless you all.

***Oh and Ilovegeauga I would love to hear that big bad Bill getting riled up story! Laughing Why in the world would he get riled up? Hmmmmm - THE TRUTH???

He was just a sputtering idiot.
He kept saying over and over again "why carry anger with you, when you can enjoy the best amusement park on the planet right here?  Being angry is not healthy, and it doesn't do anyone any good."

I said to him: "If this is supposedly the best amusement park on the planet, sorry, but I'm just not seeing it.  Do you even like being back here at CP?"

He said something like: "I will miss Geauga Lake, but it's good to be back to the best amusement park on the planet."

Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes

(Is that all that man knows how to say???  He is definitely lacking PR skills.)
