I knew all those parks had attendance higher than CP you twit. Why reply when I know the facts? Hmm, where is GL on there? CP is still amazingly popular and is still alive. I will be going again in June! _________________ Cedar Point-The best park on the planet!

There is one clueless individual on these boards that really has no idea about parks other than the one he has wet dreams about nightly.
Their comments speak for themselves, the more he writes the more its obvious that this particular person knows nothing other than to make sure they show us their ignorance.
They will now respond saying how many people visit the park in question and that so what what we think. Well time will tell now wont it? |

Um, when have I said I know about other parks? I only care about CP and other CF parks. I can post all I want about CP. People need to hear how great it is, if they don't already know!

Dominator56, once again, my not returning to a CF park has nothing to do with trying to hurt their attendance or even trying to do anything to hurt them at all. I just simply refuse to go to any of their parks anymore.
I don't live in Ohio, by the way. I only considered GL my home park because it's the one I went to for over 27 years every summer. I never cared for CP like I did GL.
CP was just miserable to me everytime I go. I can't stand the horrific lines or half the riff raff that goes there. I realize weekdays has shorter lines, but I still failed to see "The Best Amusement Park" in it.
I liked it, but at the same time it makes me miserable. I can think of 5 other parks right off hand that I have a much better time at and are close to home.
So know this, I am not from Ohio, CP is over 3 hours away, I really can't stand CF as a company and so I will not be returning to a CF park. Simple as that. It's my own personal decision.
There are 3 great parks all within one hour to an hour and a half from me know as Waldameer, Kennywood and Idlewild. If I'm going to drive 3+ hours, I will be going to Hershey Park. And thats the bottom line. |

Ok first of all CFVIP, we NEVER expected gl to appear on that list, and i mean NEVER. Also we already know that there are way much better parks then your CP.
Glfnrules, I understand and it makes sense. I was just trying to "spur" out my perspective. GL was a great attraction for 20 years of my life (seeing how it was only 40 mins away) I really don't much care for CP, but some of the rides I do like and don't mind doing once a year, but i'm not much for multiple visits to there. Anyways I know I'll have more fun at Kennywood, Idlewild, and Waldemeer. I'm looking more foward to the smaller parks then CP anyday. Also thanks for explaining yourself a little better. It made me understand a bit more why you chose to do what you did. Well maybe i'll run into you at one of the smaller parks... maybe not...lol. _________________ Geauga Lake I will miss you! |

| I remember my first trip to Cedar Point. Heck, all the excitement that had built up in the 15 years of my life hearing about the park, how awesome the rides are, the scenery, how the park is the best. I remember pulling up and getting out, jumping up in down in excitement. Then the waiting came. Now, I have a very odd attention span. The thrill of riding the tallest coasters in the world kept it pretty much straight forward. First ride I hit was Top Thrill Dragster. All i gotta say was Wow, dissappointment. The park in general just pissed me off. I hated the fact that they had several roads going to absolute dead ends. The food sucked pretty much, all i ate was candy and drank water. About halfway through the day, I went to the Arcade and played DDR for about 3 hours straight (probably the best part of that trip). Then when i went to get on Millinium AGAIN, i was told i wasn't able to ride due to "my body not being the correct proportions to fit correctly in the restraints". Yea, that didn't annoy me or nothing. So, when i went to get on Wicked Twister, I was told I was fat, plain and simple. The GREATEST compliment i got there. Yea, that trip was really only good when i was in the Arcade that got me about 20 bucks for kicking other peoples butt! I went expecting SO MUCH, and left disappointed. CP really isn't all that much. Kennywood and Knoebles are WAY better imo. And i can say with PRIDE that I OWN AND WEAR the R.I.P. Geauga Lake shirt. And people don't say bad things to me, they just ask me what I mean, and when I tell them what happened, they end up hating or not being real thrilled that an awesome park got closed. So, to you CFVIP, go suck Dick Kinzel wang and be his little bi***! |

Sorry to double post, but this is to CFVIP:
Didn't Wild Cat have an accident? I wonder what that could mean? Even more rules and safety regulations that aren't exactly necessary? Let's see now, when I was at Kennywood all those times that I have been there, I only had to deal with TWO breakdowns, both of which for a manditory mechanics check. I wonder how many times rides at Cedar Point have been closed down for something other than Mechanics check? Heck, even when i went to Six Flags in St. Louis, the only ride that broke down was Ninja, and thats cause we went after a storm and some of the electronics were doing sporadic things (the announcement system was working like a radio, crackling in and out at random.) So yea, you can go to CP all you want dude, I can find way more fun things to do then go waste money at an over-rated amusement park. Heck, I had more fun at Walt Disney World, but that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I got my mother, who hates rides btw, onto the front seat of Splash Mountain!
And yes, I'm almost positive that I have strayed the main subject multiple times. My mind and train of thought are about as sporadic as Cedar Fairs decision to buy parks that they aren't financially stable to buy! |

I also won't be hitting a CF park this year. And for protest last year I wore the shirt below to Knoebel's PPP and EVERYONE gave us compliments. They were all enthusiasts. Those that weren't were very disappointed that the park had closed, because they hadn't heard about it. I would wear this to any Cedar Fair park and I would get the same reaction, I guarantee it.
Not that I can ride this year....oh well there is next year. |
hey katie have any more of those shirts ? id like one to wear on my KI CP trip this summer. _________________ |

It seems that CP is beginning anew in OHio...
I've been bombarded with CP's TV commercial, which in my opinion isn't awesome, but a hell of a lot better than what they've put out in the past. But I haven't seen any TV commercials for WWK.
Today on Fox's morning show, they were saying how CP is offering a family pass that's $40 less than what it normally would be. I haven't confirmed this cause I don't have any plans to do CP. They also said that this weekend, (they didn't say if it was all weekend or just 1 day) that CP offered a free buffet for anyone who had bought a pass. They also noted that CP will probably be doing this again. Knowing CP, it's one of those you don't know it's in effect till you get there & ask about it.
Previously, CP never gave anything away, and charges mega bucks for (what I've heard) is barely edible food. This is the same Co. that didn't want to honor the reading program that SF had implemented, and only did so after the public outrage. I remember that when it came out about the free reading program tickets, one CF person said that CF just doesn't do that (give away free tickets).
What's their concern now, is it the economy & their sales so far, or has their arrogance well run dry?
Or heavens, are they trying to improve their opinion to the general public. _________________ Money, power, fame: the roots of evil, and others heartache. |

So why is it when Kennywood gives out deals they are doing great and is such a nice park but when CP does they are in the slums and excuses are made? Ahh, loving the jealousy. _________________ Cedar Point-The best park on the planet!

Actually, from looking at CP's website over the weekend, they offered park tickets for $44.95 each, and that included a free picnic buffet.
Also on their website, they offered just tickets for the picnic lunch for $11.45 for season passholders. IF I were interested in such a thing, I would be pretty pissed off as a passholder. WHY does the general public get a break and passholders don't?? Is it because they figure passholders will go anyway??? Totally not right.
Also, I've been told from a very reliable source that the Midway Market now charges $15.95 a person! I can remember just a couple of years ago it was only $10.95...$12.95 if they were serving prime rib.
Pretty pathetic if you ask me. |
