I feel bad that your outstanding TR got hijacked VGPlay.  I thought your TR was excellent and I look forward to the final video.  I'm thinking of going back tomorrow with my brother for some more RF2 rides.  It really is that good... in my opinion anyway.

Thanks for your hard work.  You've got at least one fan here.  Smile

Please also accept my apologies VGPlay. It was a really great TR and I am very much looking forward to visiting the park this weekend.

Fan #2 here! Smile

Thanks for your support. I had a chance to add a bit more to the trip report and the video will be done tonight, pending if I can get it exported properly.

Took long enough, but the video's done.

If it stutters, try turning off HD by pressing the "HD is On" button. For best quality download the original file in the lower right-hand corner.

Let me know what you guys think.

Great video. Thanks for posting it on vimeo, the quality is much better there.
We are planning on stopping at Waldameer on Friday on our way to Darien Lake. After seeing your video we're going to have to allow more time.
Or maybe stop on the way up and back.
We've never been and thought we were only going to ride Ravine Flyer II.
But after seeing your video there is much more that I'm going to ride.
Thanks again.

We had a FANTASTIC time at Waldameer on Saturday.

We got their just before opening and the park had tons of people in it already! Free admission and awesome price for a ride all day band makes this park so much better!!

We didn't stay all day due to my condition, but the boys and my son (who wasn't supposed to come along in the first place) had a great time and rode practically everything! Flat rides included. They didn't do the water park area because of the quite cool weather, but they got on all the coasters!

My son even rode Ravine Flyer 2, TWICE!!! I was so totally proud of him. They were only running one train while we were there, but I was told that they would be running both trains during ERT that night with Coasterfest!

All in all great park, fast lines moving, AMAZING FOOD. Fried apples are the BOMB-Diggity! We got things fast and hot and with a great smile! Can't beat that! I will post some pics this week when I upload them.

Also, on a very sad note, we stopped at Conneaut Lake before Waldameer and took some pics. It was very very sad to see Conneaut just sitting there idle. Where the ballroom stood is now a big empty lot and the shops next store were practically destroyed and still smelled of fire. It almost brought me to tears. I really hope they find a way to re-open this park. I would love to be able to take my son there to ride.  Sad  Sad  Sad

I can't get the video to play but I plan on visiting this one in August with my club and Darien Lake. These two coasters are must see in my book.

Loved the video,  I found that the stuttering wasn't much better with HD off and it really compromised the quality.  When it started stuttering, I paused it & let it load ahead a bit before I continued it.

I had planned on taking my kids to Kennywood this year, but after seeing the video of Waldameer, I just might head there if it's not to long of a drive.

Holy crap was I right about Waldameer! That park looks BORING. It looks like a dirty, oversized carnival. Very run down and sad looking. But hey if that turns you on have fun! Very Happy

LMAO the idiot is out in full force again? Did you get grounded from the computer for a few days due to your lack of respect of members or any other people in the world?

I bet that is what it was.

Waldameer isn't the biggest park in the world, but it has better operations, food, parking prices and rides. Oh yeah CP doesn't have any of that.

CFVIP,

You are either completely brainwashed by CedarFair, or you just are so stupid that you can't even imagine something other than a megapark.  You are completely wrong about Waldameer and you need to start talking about things other than Cedarpoint.  You should also reserve judgement on a park until you visit that particular park.  With that said Waldameer on Saturday was a wonderful experience.

Waldameer indeed has no parking or admission costs, which in my opinion is a plus for a small family owned park.  The ride all day was about $20 which was well worth the price.  The selection of coasters and flats was just great.  I don't see how anyone could mistake this well organized and operated park for a large carnival.  Every employee that we encountered was very customer service oriented and very friendly.  The food in the park was spectacular.  For $7.50 you can get a handmade cheeseburger, large order of fresh cut fries, and a medium drink.  At other mega parks you would pay well over $12 for a bad tasting and smaller meal like this.  I agree the Apple fries are to die for.

The park was very clean and the landscaping was done very tastefully.  I noticed many delightfully artistic sculptures around the park.  The entire experience left me wanting more.  I have found a lovely park that I will continue to visit time and time again.

Ok, CPBoy.  I'll play along...

What part of the park looked dirty?  What part looked "run down"?

Seriously, tell me exactly what it was that brought you to that conclusion.  I'm interested in hearing.

Um, Katie it is a thing called a life. Like I said before I am never here on weekends. CP has amazing operations and WAY better rides. You are crazy to say some place called Waldameer has better rides than CP. 4 mediocre coasters sounds great doesn't it?? I would much rather ride Raptor, Magnum, MF, TTD, Maverick, etc.

Coaster 3:16, I will give you parts of the video that gave me my insight.

15 seconds: Oversized carnival look, looks very cheap. Oh and SOMEONE PLEASE tell me that is not the main entrance! PLEASE!

31 seconds: LAME coaster. Zzzzzz.

48 seconds: Park looks fun from there doesn't it?

52 seconds: Trash on the midway. That shouldn't even be called a midway!

3:00: ZZZ again!

4:56: Zzzzzzzz.

5:05: Compare that hunk of crap to CP&LE Railroad

Those are just a few of the things I saw.

Hmmm, just noticed this too.

"If you don't like my opinions that is too bad because I have no time for stupid! And proud to be Katie's husband!"

Interesting.

I had a friend that used to work at waldamere.  He operated the train parttime for a few summers in the mid nineties until he died from cancer.  it was such a nice little park back then.  maybe one day soon I can get back there and see the many changes that were made.  I wish the Nelson family well and hope they have a sucessful summer with this new ride.
