I commented on this in trip reports but I figured it belongs here until we get further confirmation. Here's the comments from KICentral
www.kicentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13238
According to a person who said they saw it happen, one kid was taken away in a stretcher.
Here's the comments on poinbuzzwww.pointbuzz.com/Forums/Thread/22897.aspx
Of course on pointbuzz most people don't believe it. Especially our own little cfvip who is cpboy77.
If it is true and 14 people injured that's alot of bad publicity. How's wonderful dickhead going to handle this damage control? Send out his buffoon good old bill to make some stupid statement. I sure don't see dickhead answering any questions. _________________ "Be ashamed to die until you have achieved

Click here to see the rides listed as closed today at Cedar Point.
We'd better make sure that someone here mentions this or else the CF Cult Members will be sure to fill us in: "no one was seriously injured".

Riders Get Unexpected Jolt at Cedar Point
WWJ Newsroom Reporting
Sandusky, OH (WWJ) -- A close call for some riders at Cedar Point.
A spokesman for the theme park told WWJ that a car on the Wild Cat ride suffered what's known as a "roll back," meaning the car didn't make it up the initial hill on the track Friday night--and rolled back down, slamming into some other cars.
Nine people were taken to a first aid station at the park. No one was seriously injured.
The incident was described as "highly unusual" by park officials. _________________ Money, power, fame: the roots of evil, and others heartache. |

IMO...that means maintenance obviously off the ball. (just sayin)
Wildcat was awful jerky going up the lift, even though a very fun ride.
I am surprised Robin Innes didn't get on the microphone to smooth over the accident like it was supposed to happen. Like with what happened with Maverick. _________________ Katie

I like it when you do the CP research. Thanks for giving them more attention! Anyone take a look at the CP webcams? Today is PACKED for a weekday in May. _________________ Cedar Point-The best park on the planet!

Definitely "highly unusual". Wasn't it last year that magnum crashed, oh excuse me before some cf zombies jump all over me I mean wasn't it last year that magnum bumped another train while coming into the station. And wasn't it a couple years ago that ttd sprayed people with metal shavings. Yes definitely a "highly unusual" incident.
Let the spin machine begin. Already we have different numbers and injuries. From 14 people being injured to only 9. From a kid being taken away in a stretcher to everyone was treated at the in park first aid station and than released.

Strange it did not get broader media coverage. _________________ "It's a very special ride. We want to make sure it has a proper home." CF Spokesperson Robin Innes about the Big Dipper.

| Of course not, CF doesn't need anymore negative publicity than they already have had. Makes me glad that I am not going to CP this year. I'd be concerned over the safety of the rides after this now. Of course all the CP/CF zombies will say it's an isolated incident etc etc etc. |

| Well if 15 people were injured, a small boy taken away in a stretcher and children with blood all over their faces and crying(like rumored on PointBuzz), of course it would have gotten broader media coverage, skyglider. From what I heard, this is has happened with other Wildcat-like coasters. Nine people were treated at the First Aid station. How do you put "spin" on that catchthebrassring? Let me assure you that the Sandusky Register puts absolutely everything that Cedar Point or Cedar Fair do in the paper. If there was a crash where people were taken to Firelands Hospital on stretchers, I'm sure it would have been in the paper, let alone the daily police/fire report. You guys (did you like that generalization?) act like accidents happen at Cedar Point all the time! I'm wondering if you can name me a park that hasn't had about 3 minor accidents in half a decade. There are some parks where people have gotten killed or seriously, seriously injured in the last five years. |

Guess what, it did make the Sandusky Register and a person was taken to Firelands Hospital. Besides that I never said a small boy was injured I only said a person was taken away on a strecher. Do you know more than you're saying? _________________ "Be ashamed to die until you have achieved

| The Wild Cat is a good junior coaster. I'm sure they will figure out the cause and reopen it ASAP. I like this coaster it was one of my first ones I rode at CP as a child. I hope the boy wasn't hurt badly. Anymore information on this will be great. |
