See here's your problem. You are just to use to these lame little small parks like Kennywood, GL, Waldameer, etc. People never go there so of course the lines will be short. You need to visit more world class amusement parks.

The problem is that people DO go to the smaller parks, often because they may not have the fastest coasters or whatnot, but because they're close, enjoyable, and have sentimental meaning.  I've lived in Akron my entire life, been to GL at least once every year from age 6 until SixFlags bought it, and sadly only once since...  Went to KI twice and really preferred GL just because of size.  I've never been to CP, never really had the urge.  Same for Disney.  And that's my choice.

You just need to get the fact that CP is the best and always will be. Like I keep saying, you are just jealous that I have my CP.

Nearly everyone on this board is angry that you have your CP, and CP, with apparent intent, took away our GL.  If you'd like to have a civilized conversation, I would recommend not rubbing the continued existence of CP in the faces of those mourning GL.

Just out of curiosity - how many awards have you won lately?

Well first off, CFVIP, I can't decide if you are trying to be sarcastic or serious in your posts.  I hope sarcasm because if you are being serious, you have something wrong with you and your perceptions of...the world in general.  For example your last line is just not needed.  That was just dumb.  By the way, though, I usually do get a good laugh out of what you call "posts" and the responses they generate, so please keep posting.

Anyway, of course Cedar Point will have bird crap on the roof of buildings and rides because they are right by the lake.  There are so many of seagulls around the beach in the summertime it's ridiculous.  I'm just confused as to why you're complaining about this, geaugalakeinexile.  What do you realistically want them to do about it?  And in regards to wait times, I think it is very much common sense that if there's a lot of people in line, well, the wait time is gonna be pretty long.  Millions of people go to Cedar Point and want to ride the coasters, therefore the wait is long.  Of course if you go to Disney in February the wait times won't be over a half hour, as geaugalakeinexile pointed out.  If you go to Cedar Point during the week in May, the wait times won't be longer than 15 minutes!  Don't try to tell me wait times at Disney, for the major attractions, are a 1/2 hour during Easter Break or summer.  I was just in Orlando in March and although I didn't go to any of the parks, most of my family did go one day and said they hardly did anything because the waits were 2 hours for everything.  But of course, that's common sense...a busy park during a busy season is going to have long waits.

I have been to Darien Lake several times and it is a very nice park. It reminds me of GL of the early years before Six Flags takeover. If I lived closer I would visit more often. Now that they have aded OCC Moto Coaster I am dying to go back this summer to ride something new and exciting.

Ignorant child, just get off the boards, go to cedarfairnation.com and join. You are obviously not an enthusiast. An enthusiest enjoys all kinds of coasters big and small. Your just a CP junkie, so go to CP and stay there and stop posting here. You are annoying and should be banned. Maybe you should just stick to those buzzheads.

The most ignorant comments are when he opens his mouth before any words come out yet.

Darien Lake isn't owned by CP is it? I refuse to give my money to ANY CP owned parks.  Kennywod was great-just visited last week and looking for more parks like it. Live in Canton Ohio and would like to stay under a 250 mile drive. Thanks!!

^ Darien Lake is not owned by CF.  They are managed by a company called Parc-7F and are owned by a Real Estate holding company (CFN or something to that extent).

Despite my sarcastic TR, Darien Lake to me is the one park that "feels" more like the Geauga Lake of old (mid-to-late 80's) than any other park.  It's hard to describe until you go there and see.  Premier/Six Flags owned the place for a while (1996-2006) and thankfully they didn't suffer much from the takeover.

With its awesome flat ride selection, average-to-above average coasters (and one really bad one), a unique setting and a family atmosphere, DL is definitely a place you should check out.

Darien Lake's new General Manager is Chris Thorpe.
He started his career with Funtime back in the days when Funtime owned Darien Lake and Geauga Lake.

I posted some new videos on YouTube of Viper and Ranger.
I'll post more when I finish processing them.
