It looks like a great addition to the park the special effects look great. I wish they would have done that at GL. I hope to get to ride it again someday when I make it out to California.

I was at the waterpark today. I saw beaver being dissembled from liquid lightning. Then as   was leaving I noticed a bates amusements truck parked  in the handicapped lot. I am wondering if maybe they are buying some rides. After I left I drove around and there was a Norton truck and a few shipping containers as well as blmr track in the lot by villain.

Maybe Bates Amusements bought one or more of the flats -- would it be practical to move BLMR around from fair to fair? I guess that did happen with Geauga Lake's 76-80 Zyclon coaster which still appears at the Ohio State Fair, so maybe.

In addition to the spring IX Indoor Amusement Park in Cleveland, Bates Amusements runs alot of Fair-type events throughout Ohio, here are their upcoming 2008 events:

Interesting history of their company:

I know fair operations generally have a bad reputation, but I have heard mostly good things about IX Indoor Amusement Park.  Maybe not such a bad outcome for one or more rides, at least they will be in the area.

BLMR is indeed being disassembled and will not be part of the auction. I can not say where it is going but lets just say most of us will never see it again.

Bates Amusements is a REALLY BIG carnival type outfit from what I understand from someone who used to work for them.  Hopefully the flats will go to them and get much use and love from many people

Coasterdad: I presume you know where it's going and just can't say, then?  Any chance you could let us know if you see it leaked elsewhere?

I am curious to about the BLMR. Please keep us informed when the info comes! I hope that ride doesn't go too far. I loved that ride and so did my kids.

Where is BLMR going? I thought CF was keeping it and going to relocate it at a CF park. Please let us know if you here any other news. Are they selling stuff that's listed in the Norton Auctioneers Guide? Hopefully most of the rides will find good homes. I will miss them all. It's not the same without GL this year. I miss the place terribly. It's depressing when you go to the water park and the rides aren't operating.

Did anyone go by the park today? Is there anything going on? Are the trucks still there? Any pictures of BLMR?

I know that when my family was at the park Thursday, The ride side seemed like a ghost town. We tried to see if there was any action going on, but couldn't tell from the water side. I know when I go to the park on Monday, I will try to get some pics.

Very interested to see them. If you have a way to get them on your computer and don't know what to do from there -- www.tinypic.com or www.imageshack.us image hosting. Very Happy
