· Quote

We took the day and headed off to Erie, PA for Waldameer. We decided to stop off at Conneaut Lake to take pictures of the damage from the fire and just to see what the park was like completely empty and left for dead. It was a very sad time to see this park go down like it has...anyway the pictures speak from themselves. The pictures of Ravine Flyer 2 and some of the Waldameer is put on a site for Copyright purposes so here is the link:

Any of these pics people can use, I don't mind.

We didn't stay long due to me not supposed to be out and about, but we had a great time. My son Matt, who wasn't supposed to go, had a great time and rode all of the coasters. Even rode Ravine Flyer 2, twice. I was very proud. This was a perfect park, my son has very little attention span so a smaller park does him better then a huge park.

We will be going back on the last week of August with the new baby, she needs to get acclimated too!

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the pictures Katie, it's sad to see the damage at Conneaut Lake Park, I hope it doesn't end up like Chippewa Lake did, deserted, overgrown and forgotten.

I have a weeks' vacation in August, I may just check out Waldemeer or Kennywood this year, depending on how my bonuses work out for July and August.

Nice pics Katie.  Your pictures of Conneaut don't look as bad as some of the others I have seen.  Perhaps there is still a chance that one day it may open again... but as we all know, it's "just not a viable business."  (shrug)

And seeing that Ultimate Trip roof collapse makes me feel very lucky that it didn't happen when that ride was in operation.  Wink

I thought the park was closed? Are any rides in operation?? Can you just walk through and take a look? We are going to Presquile Island and would like to visit the park. Just went to Kennywood last week-LOVE IT this is the park that Geauga Lake could have been if CP wouldn't have screwed it up.

Good report, Great pictures!

I made it there(Waldameer) once this season and should make at least 5 more trips by end of season.  The park has A LOT going for it and it will be fun/interesting to see where they choose to grow from here.
