Whether you believe what Screamscape posts or not this rumor really caught my attention.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg, IMO the best theme park outside of Disney that I've been to, might be removing the famous Big Bad Wolf suspended coaster to make way for new access to a new future land the park may be developing in the former Drachen Fire spot.

Big Bad Wolf is considered the best Arrow suspended coaster and it is my favorite of the genre. It's unique location, run through the Bavarian village, and ending with what could be the single best drop on a suspended coaster towards the park's "Rhine River" (which is a bit intense from the back seat) make this ride a true legend.

I am hoping that this rumor is just a rumor.

Hope to god this rumor is not true. That would be a travesty if they would remove one of the best coasters in the park.

It is by far my favorite suspended coaster and it has the best theme I have seen.

I am still peeved at them though for taking out one of my favorite old school rides Drachen Fire.

I was reading the forums at BGEscape (link to the site is in the "Links" section) and it appears that the rumor is true and the ride could possibly close as early as July. Take that for what it's worth after the lesson we've learned when rumors regarding the closing of GL's ride side first popped up in late August/early September.

Supposedly the rumor at this point is they are possibly looking towards a B&M flyer to headline the new country since Manta seems to be doing well for Sea World Orlando (and getting great reviews). I can somewhat see that happening since BGW has an issue with adding high rides with the surrounding neighbors and a flyer doesn't have to be tall to give a great ride. Personally I don't think flying coasters are bad rides but I think they are quite limited in what can be done with them.

On a side note, I, too, loved Drachen Fire, riding it opening year when ACE had a day set aside after the convention at Kings Dominion. Thought it was the most unique Arrow ever built with some one of a kind elements and sexy looking trains. While it wouldn't be the same I would love to see B&M replicate it.

Interesting.  Was able to ride it back in '07 and thought it was a pretty good ride.  Better than Iron Dragon up at CP.  If they were to take it, then there wouldn't be a "coaster" in the Germany section of the park.

Looks like Busch is in a love affair with B&M and getting rid of their Arrow rides.

This is a true shame.  BBW is one of the all-time great coasters of any kind and the final plunge over the Rhine River has to rank as one of the best finales of any coaster.  It's just such a unique ride that the GP seems to enjoy also.

Two of Arrow's best were installed at BGW and it looks like they will both be reduced to scrap.

I second Ray's comments, BBW is the #1 suspended coaster in the USA and probably one of the great classic steel coasters in our country as well.  I have AB is smart enough to at least make an announcement of some sort to give enthusiasts a chance for one last ride (unlike what happened in Aurora!)

This is a shame. I was at Busch Gardens this past Sunday and found Big Bad Wolf (and all their rides) to be great. If it were a maintenance issue, I could understand. As the trains pull all over the place on themselves and the track. But according to the rumor, that isn't the case.

If it is a matter of having better access to the land behind Big Bad Wolf, why not relocate the bumper cars to the new country (or somewhere else)? That would open up enough space to build a new midway. Especially considering how the park isolates each "country" from another. Hopefully this proves to be false.

Sadly, this is not a Rumor.

Not sure when the ride is slated to close, but it WILL be removed over the winter.

Get down there as soon as you can.
