Hi all, just thought i'd put this out there.

For those that miss coasters in the winter, skiing and tubing are good alternatives. I've been skiing for over 30 yrs, and you do get a similar high from it like you do on coasters.

Tubing has come a long way, and they even have "people movers" to get you up the hill.

Thanks for the info. about Polar Blast. It sounds like a alot of fun. Have you tried the Strongsville Chalet? They have tobaganning also which is alot like riding a coaster also they don't have a lift however and you have to carry a toboggan to the top of the hill.

Tobogganing at the Chalet is awesome. It has a nice steep drop you don't usually get when sledding, giving a similar feeling to a coaster drop. Then there's a flat section that gives a good sensation of speed. You have to carry the toboggan up yourself, but if you have others to help (or are a teenage male Wink ) it isn't a big deal.

This reminds me of an evening last winter when my family went up there. It was down in the teens/low 20s and there was ice everywhere. Originally both chutes were open and the right one was running especially fast. If you're familiar with how they're setup, you know how the chutes have a landing you  stop in, then just ending into an open area followed by the road. Well, we loaded up a toboggan with my dad, my uncle, my brother, and myself and went down the right chute. We flew through the landing, through the open area, across the road, through the overflow parking lot, and had to bail because we were about to get into the woods. Needless to say, the right chute didn't run the rest of the evening. It was awesome.
