I must have done something wrong when I tested before...It's 9:23 AM on a Thursday morning...
I'm going to test when the TV's are on in the house...I'm not sure if that changes anything but worth a try...This is so much higher than the other test...

Wwe...I'm as surprised as you...I can't think of why it's showing so fast...but I've really thought it was fast...Of course at times when I have lots of windows opened things might slow down a bit...but not much...
I impressed myself with these tests...I wonder if the monitor might have something to do with the new results...Could it be the other monitor was bad or slowing it down? Who knows but for the time being I'll stay with Charter...the way I look at it I'm paying less than Fay...Lol..Fay I'll have to check your tests ...but right now I'm looking for a great Valentines Day Card to send the board...bbl..

Sheila, I would advise you to just have Charter connect you to the internet and do not allow them to put any of their software on your system. If you have followed the tutorials and done what they say, you have all the security you need for your system, and it won't be bogged down by their "bloat-ware." I've heard nothing good about charter in that respect - their security software significantly slows down your system. Same with Norton and McAfee. Some time ago, I helped W.C. get his Charter Security software uninstalled and installed the security applications listed in Sticky#3 in the Tutorials forum. I strongly suggest you use these applications instead of Charter's. Also, if you don't have a router, I strongly suggest that you get one.

where is that emotion  ...lol...ok calm now..
I see you have so much to do so I'm trying to figure what is the best anti viurs to use..Norton runs out in 6 days..so I have to figure which to use...
I'll be back ...have to think..btw..which program do you use from the internet for anti virus???? This is important..plus I'm learning how to make a folder on my C drive for my downloads..I have installs but they are for Service packs..sub folders..under Installs...this is so confusing

Repa,
I have to do one thing at a time...I intend on getting a router soon...My mind gets over loaded sometimes like these computers... ...If I do something myself once I usually try and do it twice...that way it sinks in better...lol..I guess the gray matter or old age is creeping up pretty fast...
I posted in the Computer Help a couple of minutes ago about which Anti Virus Software should I use...I would like you to take a peek at the one Charter has to offer...It's free too and seems like a nice package...Acutally Norton doesn't seem to slow down my computer as too much...
I did a speed test so here are my results eveyone ...Fay ...lol how does that look to you today...

Lol...Fay...You have a lot more programs on your computer than I do...plus you have IE7 which I think has a lot to do with slowing down my computer...I'm not sure if that has anything to do with these tests...but since I got rid of it...My tests are slowing great speeds...
I clean my Internet Options every night..Sometimes if I'm leaving the computer for a while..I'll empty them ...I like clean...even the house...but age is creeping up on me and it's getting harder...Hey maybe I'll win the lottery...Not much chance of that ...I don't gamble so that wont happen...Would be nice to have a maid come in once a week to help...Ok..just thinking aloud...and wishing...

Ok..You are hired Wwe...Lol...I could use some of those muscles for lifting or moving a couple of things...I am a neak freak...I like this where they belong...you know everything has a place...
I would have to say my houe is not dirty...Maybe a little dusty at time but I keep it clean..so you can come help me anytime you want...
Most people don't like to do windows...I do...Like them nice a clean...
