Thank you all! I really liked all the ones with the Christmas lights, so much so that I ran out on the last evening to catch some photos. But I forgot my tripod, so it was quite difficult. Only afterwards did I find this tutorial
http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/12/how-to-photograph-christmas-lights.html
I'm afraid I will have to wait til next year to try it out, but it makes good sense.
Thank you all, those who participated - it wouldn't be fun if only one of us did it
Sheila, now you made me smile with "Yo, Rike..." _________________ Rike

Yo! Rike... ...
I checked out the link for Christmas lights you put in the post above...
Interesting information...I could have used it before taking the pictures of lights...But will keep this for next year and some upcoming photos..
Thanks you always seem to find some neat learning tuts for photography...
Glad I made you smile...Yo! Until later... _________________

Congratulations Rike!
I remember when it snowed down here in 2004, for the very first time in 106 years! all our aloe vera plants, palmtrees and fruit trees were covered in snow. And thousands finally saw real snow for the first time in their lives. AND on Christmas day at that!!!
Awesome photo

That photo was taken on March 12, 2006 here in Meadview, AZ. We had 6 inches of snow overnight, but it was gone just as fast. On the 13th, only the higher elevations had any snow left. _________________ Rike
