I just recentlly installed the home and student version of Office 2007. A little bit ago I went to send an e-mail wiht OE and when it did the spell check it was flagging everything. I went and looked at the spell check option and the dictionayr was set to French- and it woul not let me change it. I did some research and found it is a known Micorsoft problem caused by installing office 2007.
Just in case some of the rest of you may do it - read this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932974
They are suggesting installing a 3rd party sell checker. I will have to do some more reserach. Has any one else encountered this?

I went out and looked and found a spell checker for oe at this stie:
http://www.snapfiles.com/download/dlspelloe.html
I downloaded it - but I am not saying it is safe - I don't know. It had a green from stie advisor. When I downloaded I saved instead of installing. Then I scanned the file. It scanned ok so I went ahead an dinstalled. THe only thing I had to do with give the OK to overwirte - a read onloy file. I took a chacne and said yes. I went back to OE and the spell checker seemd to work just fine. Only time will tell I guess if I goofed.
Repa, do you kow antying about this It seems to be working now, But don't kow for sure about the site I downloaded from.

Don't know much about Office 2007 and its problems as I am still on Office 2000. I do know about snapfiles.com and this is a good site - no worries about downloads from here, but always save the file and scan it with 2 or 3 scanners before opening, just to be sure, no matter where you get it from. _________________ Repa

Repa,
Thanks. It is good to know that is a good site.
I had been using an even older vious of office than you have - office '97. I didn't figure I would be able to upgrade but I foud the Home and Student version for about 125.00. I didn' t know they had a version for that. Of course, it doesn't have everything the full version ahve but it has all I need. It has word, excel, power point and something called onenote.
Since I had been reloading stuff after getting my computer back, I thought I had just messed up something when the spell checker didn't work. But then when I googled I found out it was a known Micrsofr probloems
