Thanks!!
*edited* I forgot to ask, I noticed that in Firefox, the text is small and the "white" when you mouseover the nav buttons, it doesn't cover all of the button. Is there a way to fix it for Firefox, but it still looks the same in IE? |
Ruth,
In IE6 the Alternative text on the buttons looks normal. I took a screenshot of the longest name tag for you to see.
There is one thing I notice happens in IE6 for the flyout buttons. The background for these particular buttons loads with a different color green.
I will check with IE7 & Safari tomorrow to see how it looks if you like?
I am so proud of you!!! You have to teach me how to do the flyout!
I like your website and the color choice. It's very relaxing on the eyes. Btw, where did you get the image?
If you need help with images, buttons and such just ask Will try to do my best! _________________

Sam,
I am a little confused. I don't understand the color on the buttons.
For me using IE7 and Firefox - everything looks pretty good.
The top 4 buttons are the same color as the background until you hover over them then they turn white. I think Sheila said they are beige/tan for her.
The bottom 2 are the same color as in the bottom image in your post, but the text on the buttons shows ok for me. Ruth is aware they are a different color than the top 4. I think it has something to do with their being flyouts - but don't know for sure.
I would not have exected to see this kind of color difference in ie7 and ie6.
For me, they look pretty much the same in IE7 and Firefox. The colors are the same. The diffenece is as RUth posted.
I see differnt colors than you do, and different colors than Sheila does.
I don't understand the 2 images you posted. Even the bacground where the main text is looks different - why is that? Were they done on different computers?.
confused

Take a look at the Colors and Accessibility buttons at the bottom of the General Tab of Internet Options (Tools > Internet Options). How you choose the options in these 2 places determines what colors you see. _________________ Repa

I just looked. The only thing I have checked is the Use Window colors box. I think Ruth and I probably have ours set the same, I think we are seeing the same colors - the way she defined them.
Sheila, Sam, what setting do you have there?

Fay,
Both screenshots were taken with the same browser (IE6) within mins apart.
The first one the page is fully loaded
The second one it is not... look at the taskbar
I just took it for her to see the difference in the color green
My color settings are the same as yours (I think)
I will check with by two other browsers tomorrow and post a screenshot. Why don't you post one for me to see how it should look _________________

Well the hover isn't showing up right for sam...one we figure out what the problem is, you have to make a different css and include the changes. In the code where the hover is you have to use <-- IF IE include --> or something like that I forget...It been so long since I've used it I'm prob even tell you how to use it wrong, but you get the idea. _________________ if there was room for another God, and Almighty was ok with it, He would pick me because I'm just that darn good |

Fay,
If you are going to use the image uploader here, you don't need to bother about the resizing your images as the uploader displays a clickable thumbnail.
The rules for resizing images for the forum is generally for when not using a thumbnail feature and for the contest.
But here goes.
If you are using Gimp, I think you should have an option "Save for the Web" click on that and choose a suitable size (web-large 640x480 should do it) then see if you can also change the resolution... that is really the trick when using "Save for the Web"
another way:
Save the screenshot in "Paint" close and open in "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" > Resize settings > select weblarge from the dropdown menu.
If you want a smaller kb > click on "Compress Pictures" _________________

Sam.
Thanks. I am just doing it without the resizing. I it is not right just delete the post, let me know what I did wrong and i'll try again.
From my conversataions with Ruth, I think we are seeing things the same but I am not posistive about that. So maybe Ruth can veirfy that and if not maybe she can post what hers look like.
Here are the ones from IE7.
Here are the ones from firefox.

Fay,
Those are fine, but because of the many images at once I have enclosed it in the spoiler bbcode
My IE7 is the same
Safari is somewhat like your Firefox but the flyout does not work. Chances are most people will be on FF and IE7.
Lol... anybody got Opera? would be nice to see what Mac users are seeing
I actually like how it looks in IE6 and the flyout works there... what I would like to know is if Ruth can get rid of the light green color... it looks odd _________________
