I've been VERRRY patient, even overly supportive in community forum trying to calm people down crossing the line over there.......but man, i have so many issues every day on both of my forums on FPB. I spent alot of time looking for a good host for the forums i wanted to do, and FPB was it...but does anyone know what exactly is going on? both of my V3 forums get this returned error:

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression

Everything was just fine until he let someone do some sort of adjustments to something or another, if i could access the FPB forum, i'd tell you who it was and what they claimed to be fixing exactly, but i cant!
I know Chris is busting his tail, im just wanting to know what to tell my members, because "I'm not really sure" isn't a very good answer......best i can GUESS is he is moving V3 forums to a dedicated server(s), i base that on the FPB homepage pulls up, but when you click community (forum), you get above error.....but all the V2 boards ive visited today are working fine.
so is this a server issue for V3 boards?? is it V3 altogether??

Dave, though I have been a great help to members at the Community Support forum and sometimes I may seem to be a key member there along with a few others. I have no connection with FPB. I would not know what goes on behind the scenes at FPB.
It may be true that here at GG&MG we sometimes get answers directly from the source. And may perceive as if we have a good relationship with FPB. But we have been here for almost 2 yrs now and yes it has been a bumpy ride.
Here at GG&MG we have had our battles to deal with FPB... just ask Chris... sometimes I have had to trow tantrums just to get an answer! Because that is what I dislike the most - the not knowing or being informed!
Though I appreciate that you feel we have any "pull" with FPB - I however ask why is it that many fellow FPB board owners come here to get answers of FPB doings?
Because Chris is a member here? I always wonder about that - he never posted

oh, i knew you guys werent affiliated with FPB  i just needed to vent for one, didn't know if maybe someone knew something i didnt is all.... lack of communication between FPB and the people who put their time into building boards there, its, well, not good at all. I hope they get back up soon! Has this ever happened before?
As far as telling you who that person who was supposedly helping was, i dont know. If i could access FPB community, i'd get the link to the post.....

Has this ever happened before? hmmm not exactly... the boards never went blank.
Was this an old post or a new post. Cause I was on here until 1:30am and I didn't see any new post on the support forum.
I have notice however that when the V3's are down the posting here is very laggy

no, it wasnt a new post......its been in some V3 supprt forum update thread for a couple months, and ever since this work has begun, there have been nothing but problems. I've seen no improvements at all, only issues |

i hate FPB so much. I have since they tried blaiming microsoft for some issue, and tried to have everyone move over to FireFox...well a week later after sam and my self, and 2-3 others fought it out, the problem(remember IE never updated during that time) the problem was fixed...odd isn't it?

Dave... you should ask Chris that question as no one did a follow-up on that particular info Chris made.
Nate... well Nate is a talented 17yr old who works when he is free from school.
Wwe... yes that would be the tantrum I threw - lol - still got them to fix it - Repa helped identify the problem too

LOL...I remember the days when I used them  ...I had a forum of 80 members and 25 active, but we won't go there as I still get mad over it and the issues i have had which Richard Kuehne...yea I said his name!!!
Does fpb allow yout o back up your stuff still? if so, I'd get a backup and move somewhere else.

Well my understanding is that you can move to a different host using the same platform -> phpbb3 in your case <- if you were to move to a different platform - lets say Vbulletin - then you can't
I say this as I remember Chris telling new members way back in the past when we only had V2 and they were moving from a different host to this host.
But my bet will be that you will enconter glitches at your new host, the best way to move a forum is start all over again - like what we did here with a lot of effort and team work
