Is it illegal to take an article form a website, and place it on yours...just as ling as you give credit and a link back to the original site or article? I've found different answers. One guy said no...someone else said yea, you can only take a portion, but he also said, that there isn't nothing to worry about as most times they will just ask you to take the page off, or to link to the article if you haven't did so. _________________ if there was room for another God, and Almighty was ok with it, He would pick me because I'm just that darn good |

The proper thing to do is get permission to use the article or a portion of it on your website with the promise of giving credit to the author and a link back to the original. _________________ Repa

Sorry about the double post. I got a system reset so I refreshed and hit submit again...
MMkay...thanks Repa...Like, I have wrestling info from other websites, and I'm giving them a link back, and in the near future I'm mmaking a page full of the sites I got info from...I'll still get permission though...I think they will let me as they are article sites for the most part. _________________ if there was room for another God, and Almighty was ok with it, He would pick me because I'm just that darn good |

Wwe,
Repa is right - the proper thing to do is to get permission. But don't expect people to reply in a jiffy - you must remember that everyone has other things to do and may not consider your request a priority. But never the less, they will appreciate your honest approach in doing the right thing.
I did it for my Pepperpot website for several things.
One was the Philadelphia Pepper Pot story from a site name kitchenproject.com
http://pepperpot.bravehost.com/Beef.htm#The_Philadelphia_Pepper_Pot_Story
The chef from that site is a super nice guy and had no problems with my request - the right thing to do is give mention to the Author and a link back to the main site or article.
The most you can encounter is a "no"... all you have to do is move to the next person in your list - but they will appreciate you for doing the right thing.

Btw Wwe... don't you have a "Delete" and "Edit" buttons?
It should be available to all _________________

No I can't delete anything. Just edit, anx I seen no reason to edit ...
Yea, I met up with a really nice lady who otld me i can use any article I want of hers just as long as it fits my site( she said it would look like I'm taking advantage, and and just make my site look sloppy) if it will fit my theme...I was having a problem with Joomla where it was displaying me as the maker of the article...And she said for me not to worry about it. She told me to take all the time I need to to fix it, just don't let it go public as it can get me into allot of trouble, and more then what it's worth...She is also going to help me get joomla more SEO ready(give me some software once shes done messing with it, but shes not having access to nothing of mine lol I been there already!) Anyhow, I did get that thing fixed today. It took me about 3 hours to figure out where the option was to turn off who wrote an article...
I'm waiting for several other sites permission.
Thanks Repa for your help. It feels better to do stuff legally lol..and if they don't give me permission, I will just retype it up lol...or use Wiki. _________________ if there was room for another God, and Almighty was ok with it, He would pick me because I'm just that darn good |
