Hi everyone...

Sorry for not coming in very often any longer. Many many things have been happening... not all of them good...lol. I suppose I am depressed, tired lonely and more.

I am now living with my sons in laws... (I wont go into it, I suppose. Just that times are hard and getting harder)

My brother died on August 19th, from his cancer. Tons of problems developed after that as well. His insurance did not cover anything and we had to get donations in order to bury him. And then, some insane person stole his funeral registery, a book where all the guests/visitors to his funeral sign.

Rob (my friend) was getting better and then took a turn for the worse, apparently the tumor/growth in his lungs is peas size (which is good, compared to the gratefruit size it was), but suddenly he has a (Legion???) or growth on his spine, something about a t-5. He is in a lot of pain.

And then.. my x husband (whom I still love very much) had a heart attack on thursday night, he is alive, he had 2 surgeries for clogged arteries and will probably need another one sometime soon. He I am not able to see for myself, his current wife would go balistic...lol. But my children keep me well informed.

Hmmm, I was about to go read wwe's post on faith, but I am afraid too, I am afraid to even think about it carefully. Cause I don't know... I just don't know.

Love ya all, be good

Sandra

Sandra,

I am so sorry to hear about your brother, your friend , your ex-husband and all that you have been going thru.

Today at church our pastor spoke on the fact that we would go thru trials and that it was ok to ask God why, but that we might not tell us now.   I think his message spoke to  many of us.

I know there are no words that anyone can say that will make any of it better.  Thanks for sharing with us.

Sandra, I'm very sorry to learn about your brother and pray that God will bless you and comfort you and help you get through this difficult time. I know than anything I say cannot remove the pain you feel just now. As mere mortals, we often can't comprehend why God lets such things happen if He loves us, but God doesn't promise we won't suffer or experience difficult times. The poem below speaks plainly and eloquently of what God says in His Word to those who belong to Him concerning suffering and difficult times - you've probably read it before, but read it again - it has been an inspiration to many in strengthening their faith:

Footprints

One night I had a dream--
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

...Mary Stevenson

And that is God's promise to each of His children regarding suffering and times of trial. Peter gives some insight into suffering in 1 Peter 4:12-13, as does James in James 1:2-3 and James 1:12. Paul speaks rather eloquently about faith in 2 Corinthians 4:11 - 5:8. In Romans 8:35-39 you will find some words of encouragement. God does not bring problems on us. He is not the source of the trials we may face, but He does allow us to be tried, and as the scriptures cited above explain, He will help us, if we rely on Him.

Just now, immerse yourself in the Bible and seek comfort in the promises of His Word. Put your faith in Him! He will not fail you during this difficult time. He will carry you, and something good will eventually come out of all this.

I read a quote a while back in one of my grannys books when I was helping her clean, and it reads as follows:

I know God won't put more on my sholders then what I can handle, but I just wish she didjn't think I was so Da** strong...

A variation of this I read on the net was

I know God wont put me though more then what I can handle, but he needs to stop trusting me so much!

Sandra,
I'm so sorry for all you have had to endure. I will pray for all of you. Repa explained things in such a wise way and it's so true. God never does give us more than we can handle and He always gives us what we need to handle it. I know it doesn't seem that way when so many bad things happen at once. I know! It's been happening to me as well. Some days I sit and cry but I never forget to look to the Lord for comfort. He calms me and gives me strength to press on. I believe in God's word and I've seen his blessings no matter what else happened. Just keep your faith and trust in Him. He will bring you through it. I send you lots of love and huge hugs. Please don't lose faith sweetie. God loves you!!!  hugs

Sweetie, you just made me cry. Thank you...

Apparently the trials in life are not over with. After my brother died on August 19th, my uncle frank (my mothers brother, who also had cancer) died sept 4th, and now I have NOT heard from my family, my deceased brothers wife kids and my MOM, who just got hit by hurricane Ike.

Sweetie, if he is caring me, his foot is sinking in that sand under the weight of me and my problems...

Love ya, bless you
Sandra

Sandra,

I am so sorry for everything you are going through. I also do not know how I missed this thread. I don't even think my excuse would help so you know how badly I'm feeling for missing this, I'm going through a very difficult time myself so please forgive me.

I am feeling so many emotions after reading this thread, tugging of my heart strings and tears in my eyes and memories of the same come back to me. I hope you find some comfort knowing how much we all care about you. I know you said your brother was not only a brother but a best friend. I'm so sorry you have lost him and I do feel your pain.

We the ones who are left behind are the ones who suffer but try and tell that to our heart. It should make us feel better knowing they are with God and their pain is gone. It doesn't help but it will get better in time. You must have heard these words over and over again...I know your faith is strong and your heart is good so grab those good memories and hold on to them right next to your heart where they will be safe.

You have shared and done so much for us here. I wish I find some Wisher Words to comfort you. Please know you are in thoughts and in my prayers.
God Bless you Sandra....

Oh, Sandra, I'm so sorry! I am at a loss for words to express my empathy. But, have patience and faith regarding hearing from your family - we have not heard from friends in the Houston area either, but conditions there are awful - it might be days before you hear from them, but there have been very few deaths anywhere, so take heart. I'm sure they are ok.

I want to tell you a true story: Jacob, one of my grandnephews on my wife's side had just turned 4 when his beloved grandmother died. Shirley had suffered a lot before she died. She had often kept him, and he was brokenhearted and unable to understand or cope with it. But one morning, a few months after her death, he told his mother that his grandmother came to visit him last night (in a dream?). He said that she sat on his bed and they talked for a while. She told him that she was with Jesus now, that she was very happy there and her pain was gone, and that one day, they would be together again. Since that day, he has been completely at peace! I am certain that this was God's way of calming him and healing his pain and sorrow.

If we have the same faith as that of a child, will He not also calm us with the same assurances that we find in His Word? Will He not help us to bear the weight that we carry in such times of trial and sorrow?

I pray that God will heal your pain, and will send you His blessings with love and kindness to carry you during your time of sorrow.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you and whispered "come to me."
With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

You have my sincere condolences on the loss of your brother and Uncle.

And my thoughts will be with you in my future prayers. Be strong, have patience and faith regarding hearing from your family.

Sandra, I'm so sorry to hear about all your troubles. I'm not into god and prayers, but I hope that you will find strength and serenity to help you through this part of your life. It looks like it can't get much worse, so maybe it WILL get better from now on, even if only in small increments.
My thoughts are with you.
