Blessings to you as well Sheila, no worries about missing this post. We are all busy and I quite understand. But you found it and replied, your words have helped and I thank you very much for your kindness.
It is good to have great friends here. I appreciate you all.

Sandra,
I am so sorry for everything you are going through. I also do not know how I missed this thread. I don't even think my excuse would help so you know how badly I'm feeling for missing this, I'm going through a very difficult time myself so please forgive me.
I am feeling so many emotions after reading this thread, tugging of my heart strings and tears in my eyes and memories of the same come back to me. I hope you find some comfort knowing how much we all care about you. I know you said your brother was not only a brother but a best friend. I'm so sorry you have lost him and I do feel your pain.
We the ones who are left behind are the ones who suffer but try and tell that to our heart. It should make us feel better knowing they are with God and their pain is gone. It doesn't help but it will get better in time. You must have heard these words over and over again...I know your faith is strong and your heart is good so grab those good memories and hold on to them right next to your heart where they will be safe.
You have shared and done so much for us here. I wish I find some Wisher Words to comfort you. Please know you are in thoughts and in my prayers.
God Bless you Sandra.... |

Oh, Sandra, I'm so sorry! I am at a loss for words to express my empathy. But, have patience and faith regarding hearing from your family - we have not heard from friends in the Houston area either, but conditions there are awful - it might be days before you hear from them, but there have been very few deaths anywhere, so take heart. I'm sure they are ok.
I want to tell you a true story: Jacob, one of my grandnephews on my wife's side had just turned 4 when his beloved grandmother died. Shirley had suffered a lot before she died. She had often kept him, and he was brokenhearted and unable to understand or cope with it. But one morning, a few months after her death, he told his mother that his grandmother came to visit him last night (in a dream?). He said that she sat on his bed and they talked for a while. She told him that she was with Jesus now, that she was very happy there and her pain was gone, and that one day, they would be together again. Since that day, he has been completely at peace! I am certain that this was God's way of calming him and healing his pain and sorrow.
If we have the same faith as that of a child, will He not also calm us with the same assurances that we find in His Word? Will He not help us to bear the weight that we carry in such times of trial and sorrow?
I pray that God will heal your pain, and will send you His blessings with love and kindness to carry you during your time of sorrow. |
Thank you, yes as a child I beseeched him and cried and prayed. Until I received a call from my mom... They are ok, they were forced out of Galveston bay in Texas city. And they went to a friends home who had just built a sturdy brand new brick home. And they went through the hurricane fine, they could not call out for they had no electricity until recently. I finally was able to speak to my mom until my battery went dead on me....Blessings... blessings in deed.
They are not able to return to their home in Galveston, one of the boys was one of the first in line for the "look and leave" before they canceled it later that day. Their home is still up, everything in its place except the trees and poles are down and those that are not down are being held up by electrical wires. There is no light or water yet so they cannot move back in until they remove the trees and install new light posts and transformers, plus return the water service.
PRAISE GOD, THEY ARE ALIVE!!!!! and that is a great relief after so much sadness, worry and stress...
Thank you, thank you very very much for being here...
Love ya all

Sandra, I'm so sorry to hear about all your troubles. I'm not into god and prayers, but I hope that you will find strength and serenity to help you through this part of your life. It looks like it can't get much worse, so maybe it WILL get better from now on, even if only in small increments.
My thoughts are with you. |
