I am a middle-aged man facing learning curves that has become more than just a little stressful. As the Department Head of the Fire Protection Technolgy Program at a community college, I find that all my traditional seated classes have dissappeared and my entire teaching load is online.
I use a commercial learning environment, construct multi-media presentations almost daily, work with photoshop and the rest the suite, especially Acrobat, create websites, and try to help my students in their technical problems when it comes to downloading or viewing the stuff I create. The problem is I don't have the necessary technical expertise, and as I result, I have the naggging sensation that I'm less than efficient. I have joined this site to ask questions and to learn.
Also, I have a secret fantasy of some day being able to interpret an error message....any error message...and dare I hope....actually correct the source of the error. |

Welcome, Ron - you have come to great place! As you may notice, we are not all master geeks, many of us are like you, trying hard to keep up with technology. Ask away, and somebody will either answer your question or point you in the right direction. Make yourself comfortable here!

Welcome aboard Ron,
I agree with Rike "many of us are like you, trying hard to keep up with technology" and from what I see, we will be learning a lot from you too!
With your permission, I may add to your message for all geeks here to know, that you are a fellow FPB member and we are glad to have you here.
BTW. We have some Home Games here, were we interact with each other in a much informal & fun way _________________

Thanks. I checked out the games, but there was an "activity unavailable" message, but I'll try again another time. |

Ron, the games that Samantha is talking about are the games in the sub-forum "Home Games" in "The Game Room" forum in the "Community Lounge." You should have no trouble getting there. If you do, let me know. This is a place where members interact with each other in games that are set up in that sub-forum. _________________ Repa

I am just seeing this thread and want to welcome you to our site. Loved your image of the "Pond". Very serene. Keep it coming. _________________ Ted /prophotoimages

Thank you. Digital cameras are nice aren't they? You can snap away with no worry taking hundreds of pictures to get one good photo. My problem is that I hate to delete anything. Now my hard drive is as full and cluttered as my attic. |

Ron,
I guess we both have cluttered hard drives as well as attic's. I don't like to delete anything either, but have been trying to delete some of my pictures that I have noticed are not worth keeping. Its a hard choice.
I do also want to say I love you photo of the pond. The way the water ripples is lovely. Keep them coming. _________________
