Yes that is what friends are for. I did have some of the links but checked them out for this camera and some others.
Soon we will all be learning and we might have to change the name to the Geeks, Geeks and More Geeks Photography Group.

Sam,
Thanks for the links. I guess I should wait till I am not so worn out from work. I don't really have the energy to do a lot of research and don't plan on spending a lot if I get one at alll. Here is link to one I found on WalMarts web site

if is a Canon power shot A470 for 114.84. I don't want anything fancy. I don't want to have to spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to use it. Just want to be able to take some decent pictures - don't plan on getting into photography or anything. I have never used a digital - don't even have one on my cell phone.

Thanks, If I can decide for sure that I want to get one I may just go with that. I think it will probalby serve my needs and I don't want to pay any more than that. Now to decide to buy a camera or not buy a camera.

Great going Fay... Congrats!... don't be intimidated by the manual... I was... At first I wanted to read the whole thing then test it... couldn't remember a thing  so I just went around with camera and manual in hand experimenting with different shots and settings

When I ordered it , it said the delivery date would be mony-friday this week. No it says it has been shipped but the deliver date has been chane from friday this week - monday nex week 
I don't know why so long.

Don't expect me to ever get really involved in photography. Just want something to have on had to take picutrs with. Of course I'll have to try to play around with it a little to figure out how to do the basics - if I can ever get the energy to do so.

UPS just deliverd my camera. I am working right now so don't have time to try it out, just wanted to jump on the board and let yall know I got it. Maybe I can check it out this evening.
