If it's fine now, let it be. If not, uninstall it. If you still get blue screens after uninstalling, restore your system to a time before you installed the program.

I believe the answer you are searching for is here:

Did you let a-squared fix, quarantine, or delete what it found? That would have been the first thing to try. Unless you can be more specific or give me a screen print of what a-squared found, I don't know how to help you.

Unless a-squared was unable to delete the entries, they should be gone. Run a-squared again, and Spybot and Ad-Aware as well, as they all find entries related to the My Way Toolbar and see if you find them again. If not, you're fine.

Just because you didn't find anything in add/remove programs doesn't mean they aren't there, or that you have residual components in your registry and folders from a previous installation/deinstallation. Also, when you go to certain websites, unless you have your computer and browser properly secured, this stuff could have been installed without your knowledge, or even piggybacked onto a download you made without your knowledge.

1. Open your Firefox browser and on the menu bar select Tools > Extensions.

2. Click the "Get More Extensions" link in the lower right of the window that appears.

3. On the web page that appears, you will see a green bar at the top of the page with 2 text bars in it. In the text bar that says "Search for add-ons," type NoScript and push the Enter key.

4. A page will appear with the NoScript download. Click the "Add to Firefox" button on the right to install it in your Firefox browser.

Now, when you use Firefox, only allow or temporarily allow scripts for websites you absolutely know are safe and trust. The NoScript icon will be at the bottom right side of your screen. Click on it to see the options for allowing or denying scripts.

You can get added security by installing SpywareBlaster (see Sticky#3 in the Tutorials forum under Windows Computer Help). The download is here:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/SpywareBlaster_d2859.html

SpywareBlaster prevents the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software. It will block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox and restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer. SpywareBlaster doesn't have to run to protect you. It puts entries into the registry that will block whatever sites are in its database from being able to run scripts and take other actions in Firefox and IE.

One of the best things you can do to really secure your computer is discussed in the following thread:

http://www.freepowerboards.com/geeksmore/geeksmore-post-13370.html#13370

This really stops many thousands of threats from ever getting to your computer via bad websites.
