Assume you have an open window: By pressing (beside F12) you copy the complete screen to your clipboard; by pressing Alt +< Print Screen SysRq> you copy the active window to your clipboard. You can the use 'Edit' -> 'Paste> to insert the content of the clipboard in your Word document or Outlook message

You are welcome WC...The print Screen is to the right of the F12 ...take a peak and you will see it...

The clipboard is when ever we copy and paste anything...So if you want to do a screen-shot ....Do it just after you follow the directions above...
If you copy and paste something else you will lose the screenshot...
It is just those 2 buttons you have to hit...quite easy actually...give it a try...

ALT & Printscn .....then you have the screenshot...If you use Microsoft Office you can paste it rigth into the email...If not I'm not sure what email programs work...but just open Paint and paste it...You will see the screenshot...

It sounds so much harder than it actually is...I'm not the best for giving instructions...

Take care...

To do a print screen and post in a thread here, follow the instructions given here:

http://www.freepowerboards.com/geeksmore/viewtopic.php?p=14399#14399

I don't know what can be causing your connectivitiy problems. You can try entering the following command to see if it clears up. You will need to be in an administrator account to do this:

1. Create a new restore point.

2. Click Start > Run. Type cmd in the text box and click ok.

3. at the command prompt in the window that appears (at the flashing cursor), type netsh winsock reset and press the enter key. You will get a confirmation that the command was successful (or not), and you may have to restart your computer for the command to take effect.

With the strange problems you are having, I suggest you take the time to go through Sticky #6  with at least the malware scanners you have already downloaded plus Avast, if not the online scans, to rule out any malware. Be sure to do the scans in Safe Mode in the Administrator account. If everything looks ok at the end, and you continue to have problems, then follow the instructions in Sticky #6 for downloading, running and posting a HijackThis log.

If you find nothing with your scanners but still continue to have connectivity problems after doing all the above, I suggest you contact your ISP to have them check out your connectivity problems.

You don't have your ISP's security package running on your machine, do you?

If, after all the above is complete and you are still having problems, post back here with specific details, a HijackThis log, and screen shots if possible.

Thanks Sheila.   I don't have any keys next to F12, but, I finally found it, in the next row down in the block of keys, adjacent to the regular key board.

Repa:  Thanks for the print screen link.   Sam told me "How To" in another post and I couldn't find it.    Does this screen shot also work when those small, pop up screens, that give some specific warning about stuff?   Such as "a problem occurred, & IE has to close" like I used to get.?   I think you told me how to do a screen shot back, when you helped me a couple of years ago, but' I forgot how it was done.

We were just using logic about the connection problems.   Since we did not have connection issues before Avast, I just thought it might have something to do with the "High" settings, or such.

I ran some scans today.   Avast,  A-Squared, and SpyBot S&D, but, not in Safe Mode.    A-Squared, and SpyBot S&D found nothing.    Avast showed a list when finished.  I did an Archive scan, as well as the local disks.   The list it showed 270 Lines that it was unable to scan, such as Temp Internet Files, C:\ProgramFiles\Online Services.    When I hi-lited some of them, it either said "Error Occurred during processing, or, "All results were processed successfully.    I guess a screen shot of that might've been helpful, Huh?

I just looked to see if I could pull up the last scan, as I did earlier today, but, that option wasn't available.   Is there a way to look at previous scans?   I can't look right now.   I'll do what you said, ASAP, and post back.

Yes.

It shouldn't - I've never had a problem or have heard or read about any from anyone else, but you never know. If you can't resolve your problem doing the things I suggested in my last post, the next thing I was going to suggest was to uninstall Avast and install AVG 8.0 to see what happens.

I ran some scans today.   Avast,  A-Squared, and SpyBot S&D, but, not in Safe Mode.    A-Squared, and SpyBot S&D found nothing.

Run them again in safe mode as you have time.

Those errors are just warnings (not errors, really). It means that there was a problem in one of the avast engines while accessing a file - which is typically caused by a fact that the file format is not quite right, or is being used by another process. Generally, you can ignore those (the protection should work regadless of them). If you are curious, you can google the return code (error code) at the end of a line to find out just what type of warning it was. For example, you could google an error code like this: avast error number 0000A474

I just looked to see if I could pull up the last scan, as I did earlier today, but, that option wasn't available.   Is there a way to look at previous scans?

You can navigate to C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Data\log and there you will find all the different logfiles for warnings, errors, etc.

Just a little update.   I ran scans in Safe Mode.    All that was found was one tracking cookie, in Ad-Aware, which I deleted.    Nothing in the others.     Since I've had much better connections since doing the safe mode scans, for some reason, I didn't follow up on your other suggestions.   I don't think I've had a single one of these: "Problem Loading Page, Server Not Found".

Like I said, I don't know, why, but, it is better.   I'll let you know if I start having those issues again.

Do you have any clue as to why connectivity is better?

How can you have an open window, if you're on your desktop, & some warning window pops up, & you need to do screenshot to post here?
