Repa,
Yes, I get the basic idea involved. But, what I don't know is how to go find all the images I have uploaded (unless I make sure I keep track of all the the links). Also, don't know if I can delete the images from the upload site haven't checked that out.
On the old board we could find them by just going to the image gallery since they were organinzed there and we could each find our own images and then deleted if we wanted. Do you know a way to do this here - find and delete the images I have uploaded?
I don't want to rely on my keeping track of all the images.
This will not be a big deal to me since I don't post a log if images. But, if you do have an answer to my question I would like to know how.

Fay,
From what experimenting I have done, you cannot delete the images from the server that are posted that way. However, there is no limit to the number of photos you can upload. You can get rid of the thumbnail and/or image in the post by deleting the link or deleting the post.
The only way to keep track of where they are is to find the thumbnails if you keep them in an active post, or the full-sized images if you delete the thumbnails and create links to the full-sized images in a post.
I agree, this is not a clean way of doing things, and involves a lot more than on the other board. But, it does make the page easier for dialup users to load the page. There is always a trade-off in everything. _________________ Repa

I understand. I think you confirmed what I kind of thought. Since this does not seem to bother the people that will use it most, it is OK. I probably will just not be posting images, which I didn't do a lot of anyway.
I did use wiggly gifs some, but not a lot. But this method will not work for them anyway.
Thanks for confirming what I thought.

Hi Fay,
I have found an extension for firefox that uploads pictures to Imageshack and photobucket. You'll need a password and account for Photobucket but not for Imageshack.
It will download any picture from the web and you can drag and drop pictures into it to upload it to imageshack.
You can also "delete it from the server" by right clicking it and pressing Delete from server.
I know you will like this extension.

Mike,
Thanks. I may check it out later. But , really don't worry about it. I don't do images that much. I was more concerned about others that do a lot of images, but if they are not concerned, then it is ok.
Thanks,

Sheila seems to spread gifs thru her messages at will. Why don't you explore the properties of some or do a "view source" for a page she has posted on? |

Keith,
I'll have to go back and look, but I did look at some earlier and they were linked to excoboard. I have not looked recently. May go back and do that.
Thanks,
