|
|
Ted, can you tell me where I can find a really good noise filter that is freeware? It can be a stand-alone application or a Photoshop Elements plugin. I have a photo I am working on that has considerable white noise covering detail that I am trying to cleanup. I currently use Neat Image, but to get rid enough of the noise that you can see what is under it, the detail becomes quite blurred and unacceptable. I need the best noise filter available that will preserve some of the detail underneath the noise, if at all possible. Any suggestions? Thanks. _________________ Repa

I don't know about freeware. You might have to search the "net". But the best noise filter is called "Noise Ninja" and it's a plug-in for all Adobe products. It also works with other photo software programs that take plug-Ins. And it does cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 70-80 bucks.
Noise Ninja is by far the best. But I will search the net for you and see what I come up with that is free. _________________ Ted /prophotoimages

I had a chance to surf the "Net" for some free and shareware noise software but am not familiar with any of those programs. You might want to check those out personally. Just type in "Free Noise software" in your URL. _________________ Ted /prophotoimages

I received from "Nik Software" yesterday an e-mail about a D-Fine 2.0. An Adobe Photoshop plug-in and totally new "noise reduction engine". You can check it out at http://www.niksoftware.com/newsletter/usa/entry.php?view=#whatsnew _________________ Ted /prophotoimages

For all of you who are looking for a free "Noise Filter". I have run across a site that has Plug-Ins for graphic programs as well as stand-alone programs. The site is called "Imagenomic". You can download the free "noiseware Community Edition" which is standalone. Go to:
http://www.imagenomic.com/download.aspx When you get on the site hit the downloads and scroll down to the bottom to find the free program. This site also has lots of buy noise programs also. _________________ Ted /prophotoimages
