Dear Mom & Dad,
Last week you took me for a ride and left me at this place called the
shelter. I've been waiting every minute for you to come back and get
me, and I'm wondering if you forgot. For the last 10 years I've been
with you and loved & adored you. I've been there to wag my tail when
you came home from work, I loved the walks you took me on, I loved
waking up to my favorite food, and that pat on the head you always gave
me. I thought we'd be together forever, but I see I was wrong. I would
never have left you...NEVER.
Today I was told that you will never come back to get me, that you left
me here and that you moved. I'm not sure why you couldn't take me with
you, but it makes me sad that I'll never see you again, and that I may
die here in this place called the shelter. Not sure if you know this,
but older dogs have little chance of getting adopted. Do you think I'll
die before my 10th birthday? I'm scared here and don't know who to turn
to, since the people I dedicated my whole life to have turned their
backs to me.
I pray that someone will find me here and give me a chance... Even
though you abandoned me, I will promise my love to someone, anyone who
will take me as I am. I'm not young and pretty like when you bought me
as your new plaything. Now I am refined and wise and relaxed in the
golden years of my life. I don't need to many walks or playtime, I'll
be happy with someone who will just love me, and I will love them...

THESE ARE THE DOGS THAT SIOUX CITY ANIMAL CONTROL WOULD NOT LET ME PULL I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THEY WENT AND PRABABLY TO DEATH. LEY WILL NOT USE US FOR A RESCUE BECAUSE WE LIVE IN SIOUX CITY IN CITY LIMITS.AND IF THIS IS NOT THE REASON AND YOU KNOW IT LET ME KNOW WHY..... I AM LICENCED WITH THE STATE AND HOLD A SHELTER LICENCE ALL BECAUSE SIOUX CITY WENT TO NO MORE THEN 3 ANIMALS IN EVERYHOME LIMIT AND I HAVE 4 AND IF ITS THE CHARGE FOR A HOUND TO COME OUT OF SHELTER TO A RESCUE NO MATTER WHAT IT COST WE WILL PAY IT RIGHT OUT OF OUR OWN POCKETS BECAUSE WE ARE NOT A 501 C3 AND WILL BE SOON AFTER SEPT 2008
ALL MOST OUT OF 150 HOUNDS IA BASSET RESCUE HAS SPONSORED THEY NOW ARE LIVING IN WONDERFUL OUT OF STATE HOMES
Take Me To The Rescue
You may not think you know me, but I'm sure
you've seen my face
In back yards, fields, and busy streets, you'll
find us any place
I'm what you'd call a rescue dog, who needs a
safety haven
I may be thin, and sickly, too, but I promise I'm
worth saving
I'm the dog who lives next door, the one you
always see outside
Seeking shelter from the sun, and a cool, safe
place to hide
You have seen me on the streets with no place to
call home
Or maybe in an open field, scared and sad, and
all alone
But did you know that there's a place that was
built with me in mind?
Where people love and care for me and and show me
the world is kind
Where no dogs will go hungry, where peace and
love abounds
Where kind and caring people will always be
around.
I may be scared of humans because of what they've
put me through
But my heart is quite forgiving, won't you please
take me with you?
Take me to that rescue place, they'll help me
find a home
And they'll make sure while I'm waiting, I'll
never be alone
I'm small, I'm meek, I'm timid, but I'll be
strong before they're through
For life will begin again for me, if you'll take
me to the Rescue.
MISS DOLLIE WENT TO THE RAINBOW GRIDGE TODAY 8/17 2008 DO TO PARVO THAT THIS ANIMAL CONTROL IS JUST FULL AND PASSSES OUT NOT EVERYTIME BUT MOST OF THE TIME AND WHY DO THEY GET AWAY WITH IT????? IOWA STATE WHERE ARE YOU????????
THERE ARE LAWS FOR THIS?????

A Dog's Soul
Every dog must have a soul,
somewhere deep inside
Where all his hurts
and grievances are
buried with his pride.
Where he decides
the good and bad,
the wrong way from the right,
And where his judgment carefully
is hidden from our sight.
A dog must have a secret place,
where every thought abides,
A sort of close acquaintance that
he trusts in and confides.
And when accused unjustly
for himself, He cannot speak,
Rebuked, He finds within his soul,
the comfort he must seek.
He'll love, tho'he is unloved,
and he'll serve tho'badly used,
And one kind word will wipe away
the times when he's abused.
Altho' his heart may break in two,
his love will still be whole,
Because God gave to every
dog an understanding Soul!
