Here's TEN ways to find TEN bucks to help save a life:
1. Jar in a Bar
Set out a jar in a bar. Ask the bartender to collect a quarter every time someone curses... Put a picture of a dog on the jar... and I'm sure you can think of something clever to put on there... "Go ahead and cuss you son of a b%$@* - just drop a quarter everytime you do!"
2. Whoopee money cushion
Have fun with your mate. Ask for and give a $1.00 donation every time you... well, you know. Go "Double or nothing if you can/can't complete this goal in 5 times in one week... Five bucks turns into ten bucks pretty quickly! B-u-c-k-s
3. Work one hour over-time.
If you work in an environment that would embrace this... Let your boss know that you'll work an hour overtime and NOT put it on your timesheet. What's the hitch? You want to be paid in cash, and in advance, for a charity close to your heart.
4. Buyer's market.
Find one item in your house that you can sell for $20., but offer it for $10 and sell it quickly.
5. Rent a dog
Know any single dogless guys looking to meet someone? Offer to rent a dog for $10. They can take the dog for a walk in the park and maybe they'll get a little attention someone that interests them. You get $10., and your friend might find he LIKES having a dog... good foster recruiting, too.
6. Walk a dog
Offer to walk a dog for someone else, doggie-sit, whatever...
7. The cook up some romance
Offer to prepare a meal for a couple or family... They provide the ingredients; you cook and clean up. The charge? $10., of course!
8. Eat simply.
Eat oatmeal for dinner four times this week. It's good for your heart and the highway running through your body; it's inexpensive and feels good in the winter. Have it every-other night over 8 days, and you'll save at least $10. if you have a few people in your family.
9. Tried and true: Clean up and scavange!
Clean out the money in your laundry jar, the bedroom nightstand, your junk drawer, the bottom of your purse, in the couch; check the slots in the vending machines and phone booths.
10. Finally, use that Christmas gift card you got from Aunt Edna...
Buy something with that gift card that you don't really need, but costs about $10.00. Turn around and return it and get $10.00.
11. Meaningful gift... (just a bonus!)
Instead of getting your animal-loving or dog-rescue friend a gift for his/her birthday or as a special thnk you for all their dedication to animals, send them a card noting that your gift for them is a gift of life to this animal...
THIS IS MY LIST.... I'M SURE YOU CAN THINK OF MORE IDEAS TO ADD. FEEL FREE TO DO THAT BEFORE YOU FORWARD THIS ON, CROSSPOSTING AGAIN AND AGAIN.
THANKS

A Dog's Soul
Every dog must have a soul, somewhere deep inside Where all his hurts and grievances are buried with his pride.
Where he decides the good and bad, the wrong way from the right, And where his judgment carefully is hidden from our sight. A dog must have a secret place, where every thought abides, A sort of close acquaintance that he trusts in and confides.
And when accused unjustly for himself, He cannot speak, Rebuked, He finds within his soul, the comfort he must seek. He'll love, tho'he is unloved, and he'll serve tho'badly used, And one kind word will wipe away the times when he's abused. Altho' his heart may break in two, his love will still be whole, Because God gave to every dog an understanding Soul! Author Unknown
