That is too funny. Yea, I am very saddened that they did not post any piccies of him, but guess what? I am going to attend a meeting and get involved with the Peace Alliance here in Arlington, TX. Wish me luck! I encourage all of you to do the same, we could all support Heart and Joaquin along with the millions of others campaigning for peace. :)   |

I'm working on a PA event for next month here...my first solo attempt...a bit scared as in stage-fright, but I want to pull it off well because it could mean support for a city resolution to endorse the Department of Peace. Working on it...will see what happens.

Thanks for the support! I meet with the Library director on the 29th, but I will probably go scope out the room to get a feel for what I would like to actually do there. I went on the national event call, and I have found support there too. I will roll some ideas around here too, to see what you guys think.
I am really encouraged though, cause any time I am able to get any community person to sit and listen to me about the Dept. of Peace legislation, the reaction is almost always positive. My hope is to garner some support to get a city resolution passed. Yeah, that's another thing. I actually met with the mayor and gave him a print out of HR 808, along with some of the other PA handouts. Now I have to make info packets for each council member, and prepare a presentation. I want to do that 'after' this community meeting, with the hope that I will be able to get people to go to the city council meeting with me.
In this, YES...I feel JUST LIKE Joaquin did before he went on Oprah... I hope I can do as good a job as he did pulling it off... I am fantastic when it comes to talking to people one-on-one, but talking in front of a crowd is new to me.  My stomach is turning into knots just thinking about it... but, I want to do this! I have a genuine passion to see this legislation pass for my own deep personal reasons. I hope that will carry me over my heebee-jeebees...lol...
