The reality of real "Peace" is that we all make it, one person at a time...one incident, one experience at a time...
peace

This thread is for JP fans to share something that you did or saw that had some affect on you or that you want to share that you believe helped your world or someone else's world be a little bit better to live in... It could be something that happened years ago, or yesterday. The key is you did something, or you were affected by something you saw... It could be a simple act of kindness, or something that saved a life...and anything in between.

One of the things that "The Peace Alliance" emphasizes to all it's volunteers is to do our best to live the peace we are trying to help bring to the world...on a daily basis...

Keep in mind this quote from Aesop...

"No act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted."

I'll start this thread out with a true story that I hope will make you go, awww....

Out of the mouth of a babe... my baby girl

One time, when my family, two daughters & I lived in CT, we went outside in the middle of the night to watch the meteor showers. We lived across the street from the grade school. We spread a thick blanket out in the middle of the outfield, snuggled up together...one daughter on each side, laid down, covered up with another big blanket (late summer) and stared at the night sky.

We watched I think for about an hour and nothing happened. We sat up, still cuddled up close, chatting at times, and just sitting together enjoying the quiet. For some reason we all shifted our stare up to the left...and there it was... the white ball of light with a long tail behind it was impossible to miss... it was one of the biggest shooting stars I've ever seen. We all said wow at the same time...lol.

We packed up and went home. When I reached the top of the entry stairs I was talking to my girls about wishing on a shooting star... not to tell me what they wished, but to believe in their dreams. My oldest daughter looked at me with the most thoughtful look on her face. I'll never forget how sweet she looked at me. She said, "Mom, my best wish already came true. I have a happy family." Some how, I had reached the heart of my 12 year old daughter to the point where she felt totally happy right where she was at in her life.

No single parent could ever wish for anything more for their child to feel in their heart... No -  didn't last.  We went into puberty with emotions blaring...but we had a firm foundation of love to start on. That foundation has stood the test of time and trial.
