Phoenix, Gray team for 'Two'
'Lovers' reunites film pair

Joaquin Phoenix and director James Gray will team for the third time in "Two Lovers," a drama to be financed by 2929 Prods. and begin production in November. Gwyneth Paltrow is in final negotiations to star with Phoenix.
Donna Gigliotti and Anthony Katagas will produce, while 2929 partners Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban exec produce with 2929 Productions prexy Marc Butan. Gray wrote the script with Ric Menello.
Gray recently helmed the upcoming 2929-produced "We Own the Night," also with Phoenix.
In "Lovers," a Brooklyn man is torn between a family friend his parents wish he would marry and the beautiful but volatile new neighbor with whom he falls passionately in love.
"This is a reunion on several levels that feels as inspiring as the project itself," said 2929's Wagner.
Pic is the fourth for Gray, who directed "The Yards" and made his debut on "Little Odessa."
"We Own the Night," which also stars Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes and Robert Duvall, will be released by Columbia Pictures on Oct. 12.

Joaquin Phoenix has joined the cast of the drama Two Lovers, with James Gray directing. According to Variety, this will be the third time the two of them have teamed up for a project.
The film revolves around a Brooklyn man who has to choose between marrying a family friend that his parents both love and running off with a fiery new neighbor that he has fallen patiently in love with. The film is being financed by 2929 Productions, with Gwyneth Paltrow set to co-star opposite Phoenix.
2929 Productions' Todd Wagner stated, "This is a reunion on several levels that feels as inspiring as the project itself." A set start date has not yet been set.

Thank you Kelly and Bine.  I was ready to post it but now I can sit back and fume because I do not like Gwyneth Paltrow.  Seems a bit snobbish for my taste. 
It sounds like a cool movie though.

Great to hear another movie being planned. I guess I'm the only Gwyneth fan. I'm having trouble seeing Joaquin with her though. It sounds like a romantic movie????? Hope so!!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT news....... a romance and Joaquin is in it??? WOW! Can't wait!
Gwyneth is a decent actor though. I don't mind her at all. ALSO she's married in real life so no getting it on with Joaquin during filming!

| I have heard latley her marriage is on the rocks! So who knows with Hollywood! I am sure she will play the family friend. Her character usually is the goody two shoes. Joaquin all mushy and romantic, that will be heart melting to see! |

Do you think that it will be romance? It doesn´t fit me with J. Gray. But who knows. Whatever it will be, I am very excited about it. Expecialy that it is J. Gray movie.
