I am posting a video put to the song 'Transcending' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. River and Flea were good friends and the song was a tribute to him. Flea had a small role in 'My Own Private Idaho'.

Just as an aside, when I look at pictures of Joaquin, I don't see any resemblance to River. Not in his looks or mannerisms. They couldn't have been more unlike. grin

I just watched the video again w/ Natalie Merchant....I seen something I have never seen before, ever...I saw a resemblance between River and Joaquin!!!  Awesome!!!  Hazeleyes, go back and watch it, don't take your eyes off until it's done...I can't put my eye on exactly which pic or mannerism or what, but I seen it!!!  I don't mean to get so excited...I'm very emotional too, I can't help it, it's just sad.  I also watched the Chili Peppers video, it was really great until they put the "911" call on it.  I don't think River would want us to be sad today...but I am!!!

I am frustrated right now because I was trying to post a picture of River from Yahoo. The infamous picture that should never have been taken kept popping up. I then could not get any pics to paste onto my hard drive.I know about the copyright issues but I just wanted one picture to share with everyone today. We should celebrate his life and how it affected ours. I will start:

I had a crush on him from the time 'Stand By Me came' out and I wanted someone like River to be my boyfriend. I also learned what a vegan diet was, which I could not understand since I was growing up in meat loving Texas. bah I realized that someone my age could really act and not merely be in a movie simply for being cute. And yes, he was adorable too. hug I loved watching his movies, loved seeing him in pictures and loved knowing that he existed. He will be missed but he will forever be loved and respected. heartbeat

I love this pic because it shows the relationship between two brothers who loved each other. It also reminds me that my two boys are indeed normal when they wrestle with each other and generally try to make other miserable. grin

This is a nice tribute...but I am sure it is something JP doesn't watch/listen to... Too painful...the 911 call; the desperation in his voice is so raw and real. I know that feeling. It is one that sears your soul...a feeling that never goes away. You put it away hoping to never have to see it come out again. Only those who have lost someone they love suddenly can truly know this feeling. That's the way I lost my dad. I'm saying this only to express my empathy...

Yes, you move on and focus on what you have, but no... you never forget.

Just do a "Screen Print" then if you can't copy and paste. Adorable picture. Reminds me of all the scrapping my older brother, younger sisters and I did growing up out in the country. There were plenty on hand to scrap with...  lol I am second oldest of 10.

It's been 14 years since River has passed. Being a long time fan since the beginning I surely miss him alot. He had taught me alot things over the years. He was a beautiful person inside and out. He spoke from the heart and stood up for what he believe in. So tonight and every year that has pass I blow a kiss to the skies and knowing that he is a beatuiful angel watching over his family. He is surely missed  and there will never been another person like him again but it was a wonderful gift that God gave to us for 23 years.Thank you River for everything you gave me. Your gone but your spirit lives on and you'll always stay in my heart and my memories and that is where you will stay.

Kelly,

All a human being can hope for once they pass is what you have given, as worded so eloquently sincere in your post. Thank you for sharing this piece of your heart...   hug
