when in doubt to the size of a picture (500 px in width is a great size to use) when you post, use the "add image to post" function that is located underneath the text box on the reply page :) that posts the pics small enough not to stretch the layout but people can click on them and see them full size!
and btw---these river pics are great girls....always nice to stop by and get a daily dose of him hee hee hee!!!
edit: i need to add though that when we move to the forum i don't think sabine wants us to post pics that way (if i'm remembering right she will prefer that we use only the url method of posting), but for now HERE it should be fine :)
