First of all, no beard, it just didn't look like Joaquin in the movie. It was very emotional and sad, like I said in the other forum, it's only my opinion! Movie critics are saying that this is the better of the 2 new Joaquin movies, I strongly disagree! His acting is superb but it's just too emotional for me.... I can definately say I probably would not watch it again, but remember: I don't watch hardly any movie twice. Well, I didn't get to meet Joaquin but I did get to meet Terry George, the producer and writer. He did Q & A after the preview and I got his autograph...hey, that's probably the closest I'll ever come to meeting Joaquin! He told us several tidbits about Joaquin and the movie that I will share with you after I "put it all together with Dear Hubby", he has the better memory of us 2!! One thing that sticks out though is, in his irish accent (Terry George) saying that after a long day of shooting, everyone was drained and went out and got drunk. He didn't specifically say Joaquin did but I assume he meant EVERYONE!!! He said it was a tough movie to make due to the topic and often Joaquin & Jennifer would leave the set in opposite directions crying. I hope that holds you over until I can make sure that everything I heard is what my hubby heard and probably he heard more!!!! It was a "good" movie- I just don't do sad movies! I will be posting some pics of the Austin Film Festival, when I find out where to post them.

Reba! I'm thrilled for you! Meeting Terry George is very special indeed!!!! I wondered if this movie was going to be hard to watch. Thank you for letting us know.
You can post your pictures and story about the Film Festival under NEWS by posting a new topic there
Titled "Austin Film Festival" or something like that!
Looks like you have green eyes too! Great pic! _________________

| It is supposed to open world wide on October 26 but I haven't seen anything on it yet. No commercials and no ads...nothing. I checked the Cineplex Odeon website in my area and nothing for Friday. I have to admit I am really disappointed because I was so looking forward to seeing this movie. Some critics and people are giving it a bad review which irks me even more. I am sure Joaquin is excellent in it..its not his fault how the movie was edited. Sorry, I going off on a rant. I will check again on Friday but its look doubtfull..OOOOHHHH WHY MUST YOU TEASE ME MR. PHOENIX!!!! |

I checked out RR in Yahoo movies and it is listed in it's first week's release at number 60, taking in $36,269 and it's only showing in 13 theaters!!! The nearest one to me is in Chicago. The only way I would go that far is to go meet him...lol.
I suppose I can wait a couple weeks till it gets here... Waiting is not my favorite thing to do _________________

I can't wait to see this either. I have to admit that I haven't had a chance to see WOTN since our weekends have been a bit full lately. Maybe I should wait and see both in one weekend. A Joaquin Phoenix double feature!! _________________

Thanks jpfan4life...I live in Canada and I checked odeonfilms.com and it looks like the movie will be released on October 26 but only in Vancouver and Montreal and don't live in either place. I would have to take a plane trip to get to both places and I think that might be a bit expensive for a movie....just a tad. Anyways, I will keep checking and hopefully something will come into my favour. As for the sad movies...I hear ya! They are not always my cup of tea but its like Christmas morning...you wait forever for the day to come so you can open your presents. I want Joaquin wrapped in a pretty bow so I can upwrap him. Oops sorry, I am getting off topic. HA HA!!! |
