According to Ireland Online:

Johnny Cash film voted best music biopic

28/10/2007 - 12:36:58

Johnny Cash drama 'Walk The Line' has been voted the greatest music biopic.

Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon starred in the Oscar-winning film about the country music legend.

Eminem’s '8 Mile' was second, followed by Mozart film 'Amadeus'.

'Ray', starring Jamie Foxx as musician Ray Charles, was fourth.

'The Doors' biopic featuring Val Kilmer as doomed star Jim Morrison was fifth.

More than 2,000 movie fans were polled by online DVD firm 'Lovefilm'.

The most recent film to make the top 10 was Joy Division biopic 'Control', which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival and was released earlier this month.

Newcomer Sam Riley plays tragic frontman Ian Curtis.

The rest of the top 10 included Tina Turner epic 'What’s Love Got To Do With It', the tale of Sid Vicious’ downfall in 'Sid And Nancy', Ritchie Valens film 'La Bamba' and 'Backbeat', the story of “fifth Beatle” Stuart Sutcliffe.

it's a small thing, but i'm glad that "ray" was 4th...i've never seen it so i really shouldn't be judgemental but i can't stand jamie foxx (especially after he publicly defended michael vick).

on a high note--yay!! for WTL-though we all have always known how great it was!!!

and another yay!! for 8 Mile--i absolutely love Eminem and that movie!!!!

but "the doors" should get more recognition.  val kilmer's performance was amazing, he (like joaquin) transformed himself into "the lizard king" and also did singing i believe.  the looks, the sound--it was like the return of Morrison!

I really like the Doors. I love their music and the movie was unbelievable. I just couldn't stand Meg Ryan's Pamela but I have heard that she portayed her accuratly. Poor man. bah

Just a usless piece of info, I was born two days after Morrison died.

Steph, Ray is actually a really good movie. I also was appalled when he defended Vick. How do defend what he did? angry

I have the soundtrack. I bought it after the movie came out and Palmer loved listeing to Cry,Cry,Cry. I was so tired of that song! The boys actually like listening to Joaquin more that JC. Go figure!
Ethan was singing a song by Soulja Boy on the way to school this morning so I put on JC to drown him out. grin I just can't take that so early in the morning.
