Joaquin is really making a case for keeping his life separate. Just glad he isn't hounded as much as many are. I don't watch all those entertainment shows either... not into who wore what, walking in on so-and-so's arm. I am just awed by the talent this man has...WTL just hit me deeply...it holds some importance to my own family history...
And when he does something for charity or some cause... he just does it cause he can and wants to, and doesn't make a big deal out of it...
some may take him as being brassy/nonchalant - so what - it's his own style of protecting his privacy... he wants his life... don't we all.

Thanks Kelly.
I bet a small amount of money($.50  ) that at some point in his career, he will direct a movie. I just have a hunch.

Don't know about that. In this interview he mentions videos that he directed and admitted they were terrible...ouch. Directing is really different from acting. It's almost as different as being an employee, or running your own business...very complicated. Don't know, from my gut feeling don't know that Joaquin has the ability or desire (at this time or in the near future anyway) to lead a team of wild horses, I mean a whole crew for a movie...lol. I have done some research into this because I love to write and want to know all the knots n' bolts of making a movie. Do not get me wrong! Joaquin is one of the most talented actors I have ever seen on screen...
He admits he loves those wonderful paychecks... He has it made right now as long as he can keep his personal life separate. If that changes, I could see him trying something else...but not so sure about directing... Maybe with time, opportunity--maybe some day Joaquin will find something he is passionate about and give it a go... But without the right motivation...ah aaa... he ain't goin' there.
