I just received this message. I thought I would pass it on... If any of you, around the world, know of any organizations in your area that are actively working for peace, let me know, or you can add them to the "Peace Registry" online.

A Quantum Leap for the Peace Alliance Foundation

December 4, 2007

My Dear Friends of The Peace Alliance Foundation,

Betty Williams, Irish Nobel Peace Prize Winner, recently spoke to 300 high school and college students at the First Annual Student Peace Alliance National Conference held at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. In 1977, Betty witnessed three small children murdered on a Belfast street and in that instant experienced a TRUTH she could no longer ignore… a truth that brought PEACE to Ireland.

Scientists say a ‘quantum leap’ is a built-in property of the entire universe. James L. Oschman, PhD, author of Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis, wrote in his foreword to Quantum Change Made Easy by Cloe Faith Wordsworth with Gail Noble Glanville that a quantum leap means that “the amount of energy in an object that is being heated does not increase smoothly, but increases in discrete steps or quantum jumps, with no intermediate levels.” On that day in Belfast, Betty experienced a ‘quantum leap’ as a sudden vivid clarity and emotional transformation shattered her beliefs in the violence she’d come to tolerate. Thirty years later, to an audience of youth from around the USA, the vibrant alignment of her truth radiated to the hearts and minds of 300 future world leaders. Wet eyed, this Grandmother personally hugged every student in the room.

Arun Gandhi invited this same group to the University of Rochester next year for the 2nd Annual Conference, adding, “each one of you bring 10 more students and we’ll make room for 3,000!”

It is your generosity that makes such investments in peace possible. Other examples of your investment dollars at work:

--In September 2007, and through our financial support and partnership with The Peace Alliance, 20 youth and others from developing nations attended, along with our US Delegation, the Japan Summit of the Global Alliance of some 30 nations supporting ministries and departments of peace.

--Next week in San Francisco, three State Coordinators from The Peace Alliance and four peaceworkers from the Philippines will attend a training in how to apply nonviolent communication (NVC) methods in restorative justice programs.

--We are co-partnering with The Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland to create a first US Peace Academy, using the bill before congress, HR808, as an outline for curriculum. Together with our friends and sponsors at The Biosophical Institute, we foresee a day when a pre-schooler begins peacebuilding studies with a trajectory right through graduate school and beyond.
Yes, these examples are a taste of our efforts to facilitate a culture of peace through education, increasing public awareness, and partnering with universities, foundations, corporations, the United Nations Department of Public Information and YOU, as together we create applied peacebuilding demonstrations.

On the eve of Thanksgiving, we officially changed our name to PEACE PARTNERSHIP INTERNATIONAL to best reflect our global outreach and the partnerships for peace that we are forging with government, civil society, and business.

I hope you will join me this Holiday Season by CLICKING HERE and making a tax-deductible donation, an investment in peace, to Peace Partnership International. A quantum leap is possible for all of humanity to love, honor and cherish one another and all life……….the time has come and we stand in our TRUTH.

Thank you so much for your past and future generosity investing in peace.

With gratitude,

Marjorie Mann, Chairwoman
