Der Soundtrack zum Kinofilm "Walk The Line" wurde in Deutschland mit Gold, für 100.000 verkaufte CDs, ausgezeichnet. Indirekt ist es auch eine Auszeichnung für Reese Witherspoon und Joaquin Phoenix, die alle June Carter und Johnny Cash Songs neu eingesungen hatten.
Soundtracks werden nur selten in Deutschland mit Gold ausgezeichnet. Seit 1978 wurden nur gut zwei Dutzend Soundtracks, unter anderem zu "Blues Brothers", "Bandits", "Notting Hill", "Grease", "Flashdance", "Footloose", "Dirty Dancing", "Buster", "Werner - Beinhart", "Bodyguard", "Fluch der Karibik", "Tarzan" und "West Side Story" ausgezeichnet.
Für Sony BMG ist es unerwarteter Erfolg, denn vor Kinostart hat man mit nur 15.000 verkauften Alben gerechnet.

it is fantastic that the soundtrack has gold status!
I really love that soundrack and all my friends and family love it, too, although some of them weren't johnny cash fans but after the movie they loved it  !
